Our group of 4 couples take a B&B Christmas trip every year and this year was to Tyler and the Woldert-Spence B&B. I try to write a fair and honest review of every B&B we stay in just so others like us will know what to expect when you book or when you get there. I have probably stayed at... More

Thank you for the compliments on our beautiful home. The historical atmosphere and furnishings are what attracts many of our guests. We are also pleased that our breakfast is considered top notch, as we strive to focus on what is important to most people seeking the B&B experience. While there is always room for improvement, it is winter season. The... More

We decided for our Independence Day holiday weekend we would stay in a B&B. I've never stayed in a B&B because I'm a picky eater and didn't want to go through the stress of eating different than all the other guests. No problem for Barb and Mike. They knew my special request before hand and made the accommodation seamlessly. We... More

Although we have not stayed here yet the planning stage with the owners has been very good. We are planning a reunion for 12-14 ladies so we called and booked the entire house!! We are going during October and the Rose Festival, and we couldn't be more excited! The owners asked about special dietary needs, special requests. The house is... More

We are so much looking forward to having the Manor full! Please remember to secure all rooms at least ten days prior to your group stay so they won't open to the general public during Rose Festival season. More

I stayed 2 nights at Woldert Spence Manor about a week ago and loved it. When trying to book the room, I liked the on-line set up which has pictures and a description of each of the seven different rooms, some of which had old stye clawed bath tube, fireplaces, and tvs while others did not. So each room was... More

A quick surprise B-Day weekend for my hubby was our first B&B experience and it WAS WONDERFUL!!! Stayed in Cottage, it had absolutely everything you could think of even some very good homemade cookies provided!!! The decor was beautiful and the bed was the softest I've ever slept in. The homemade Breakfast was just the icing on the cake. The... More

We visited Woldert-Spence Manor during December 2011. We booked the entire house for our family of 13. Had a great time! Shonda went out of her way to make sure we were accommodated. My husband and I stayed Friday night and Saturday and our children joined us on Saturday. The house was awesome and we felt right at home. Breakfast... More

Having stayed at many bed & breakfast across the country, we enjoyed our stay at Woldert-Spence. The hosts are fabulous and the home was quaint and comfortable (well appointed). Unfortunately, we felt the scramble eggs were over cooked and biscuits were too huge. Lisa's cinnamon honey butter was so yummy. The service and the hospitality, though was top notch!

My husband and I stayed in the Spence room on the first floor. It is a beautiful room with a private screened porch. Chris and Lisa were wonderful hosts. We loved waking to the smell of bacon and fresh scones each morning and coming "home" to fresh-baked cookies every evening. We have stayed at other Texas B&Bs and have found... More

Although I had lived in Tyler before, I did not know about the history of the Woldert family or the Manor. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Lisa and Chris about the house, the history and getting to know them. The location is central, quiet and comfortable. You have the charm of an old fashioned B&B with all the modern conveniences; blow... More

Chris and Lisa were such wonderful hosts. They make you feel so at home and the place is just gorgeous. We especially liked the sound machine in the room and the homemade breakfast was wonderful, especially the cinnamon honey butter which just melted in your mouth. HIghly recommend if you want a quiet romantic getaway.
