Stayed there on the word of a friend, and was floored by the experience. It was the fourth of July, and I went last minute with no specific expectations. But the rooms was so lovely, and the view was ridiculous, AND the host--Mimi--is the real thing. There is no substitute, ever, for personality and vitality. Staying at this well-run, bohemian... more

I rarely feel the need to post a review of a hotel. (In all honesty, despite having traveled in 30 countries, this is the first time I’ve posted one.) But La Posada Milagro guesthouse in Terlingua, TX is so magical, extraordinary and off the grid, that I couldn’t resist. If you haven’t been to Terlinga, you should know that it’s... more

Terlinqua is a very special town in Texas Folk Lure and this place carrys on the allure of a place where life goes by at a slower pace. Our room had a private bathroom with hot and cold shower and flushing toilet which is special in this part of the country. Ok, so maybe you did have to go out your... more

I have been to Big Bend several times, and I have stayed everywhere. This time I brought my wife and two dogs, so we wanted to stay somewhere more upscale and pet friendly. We selected La Casita, which is the private cabin south of the ghost town. The place is not cheap, but it was worth every penny. The accommodations... more

The location is quite good in the Terlingua ghost town. Unfortunately, the "rusticness" of the rooms causes them to not feel like a good value for the price. For essentially $200/night, you get a room which is cold/hot depending on the night, dark/poorly lit, without coffee maker, phone or tv. Although listed under the "bed and breakfast" heading, you are... more

The best first - the view of the sunrise over the Chisos Mountains and Mexico to the east and south was beautiful, the best part of this building location. The grounds are lovely and well maintained in areas. It would seem that the building was attempted to be 'rustic chic' but is actually more of a trendy crude, a casserole... more

The guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay. The views are unbelievably beautiful. We felt well-rested and well taken care of. It's great to walk into the old ghost town and there's good food nearby as well as being very conveniently located to the park. We have never been to such a magic place before; it's a fantastic experience to... more

This was out second stay at the guest house and it was superb. It’s rustic native landscaping and local design is impeccable. The room (the Chisos Suite) was perfect and the attention to detail and décor was spot on. This guesthouse has the correct amount of amenities for it price-point and the staff was ready to provide what we needed.... more

Although the most expensive in Terlingua it is well worth the money. This was quite superb, we stayed in the Honeymoon suite and the views back across the "town" we spectacular. The room is very rustic and we really enjoyed watching the many birds playing on the porch. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. The toilet being separate to the... more

By far the best mix of comfort, convenience, and character for anyone visiting Big Bend. Charming rooms, very very clean, amazing views of the park, and good nearby food choices. Other than Lajitas, no lodging within 30 miles of Big Bend will be as nice. And Lajitas feels a bit commercial and resort-y... while Posada Milagro makes you feel like... more
