This is a no frills place, which is on par with the rest of Terlingua. What you get is a clean room, and comfortable bed, a big shower with hot water and good wifi. All the staff are very nice and the salt of the earth. The owner, Herman, is usually on site everyday. If you are the kind of... More

At the last minute, my friend and I decided to make a Fourth of July trip to Big Bend. She booked this room through hotels.com. Since it was one of the most budget-friendly places we were worried. That being said, our experience was great. Though be prepared, if you're coming in late at night, the place is lit up like... More

This place was everything we needed when visiting Big Bend. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. We had a good-sized refrigerator, and all the hot water we needed with a large shower. This location is central to both the national and state parks, and a mile from the heart of the Terlingua ghost town. It's on the main highway... More

Presented as a "Ghost" town, Terlingua is however more a "growth" town. From the depths of despair the town is gradually rebuilding itself and attracting artists and entertainers that are bringing new life to an previously abandoned town. The Eldorado offers basic accommodation, clean & comfortable but NO frills!

we can do rustic and quirky ... but it has to be clean, which this place wasn't ..... and the nerve to charge $120 a night for filth .... we left immediately and checked in to lajitas down the road --- only $20 more for clean, safe, comfortable and mold-free ....

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn't come to sit in the room and watch TV and it is a good thing because it was not working. The staff was wonderful and the people we met in the bar were interesting and easy going. Great sunsets from the balcony of our room and the bar.

This is like being in Taos in the late 60's or early 70's. Full of nutty folks enjoying their lives. Nothing works well. The TV only got 1 channel a day, often in Spanish. Rooms are somewhat strange and the beds are terrible. BUT, get in the mood and some of you will have a ball. Those who like structure... More

We paid $108, with taxes the total was around $120. Because it was the beginning of Spring break, rooms were hard to come by, my first two choices were booked and I booked in early January. Its all location, location, location. Close to the Terlingua/Study Butte entrance to the park, which the prices reflect but the entire place was run... More

The El Dorado has a wonderful staff - friendly, caring and taking care of all needs. The restaurant is great and the views from the balcony are wonderful The rooms themselves are very basic and old. Hot water is limitted. Beds not especially comfortable. You can find better places to stay in the area for the same price

I stayed here on a recent trip to big bend national park. The rooms we're clean but not much else good to say about the place. When we first arrived were given keys to our room only to find that someone else was in that room. We were given keys to a different room. The tv and wifi did not... More
