Waited too long to book a room near Big Bend during Spring Break.... and felt like it. The room was clean but particle board walls, old & dingy sheets and underwhelming. Would have expected it to be cheaper, based on quality. But close proximity to eats and park.

This is a One Star motel that I gave a Five Star rating just because I enjoyed my stay there. It is perfectly located between the Big Bend National Park roads and the Rio Grande River Road 170. The parking lot was full of four wheelers and off road vehicles and cruiser motorcycles. Lots of friendly conversation in the parking... More

We had room 9. It is not fansy but very clean; appreciated the smell of the fresh clean bed linens! The TV was a small 12" but the worse thing about this room is that you can hear everything from the room above this one. You can hear every step and it sounded like an elephant started pacing the floor... More

This is a place to lay your head in a minimal hotel. We had a ground floor room although we were under the impression when we had booked that we would have a balcony. No headboard on bed, no fridge in our room, and a very stale smell in the room which we could still smell on our clothes after... More

Ok if you cannot find anything better. Very basic, but clean. Some lamps and heater not working properly. Wifi but not working. Its main benefit is that it is located only 30 miles from the Big Bend National Park.

The staff tries hard, but this is a Motel 6 kind of deal. Room was clean and very spartan. Bed was an acceptable queen size, but noise and light from the adjacent room came through a flimsy door that separated the 2 rooms. The WiFi gave only sporadic connections. I would not stay again.

This is a quaint, old time hotel. The rooms were spacious, and the beds had great mattresses. For us, the heaters worked well, which was a good thing. Don't expect large tv's with many channels--that's not why you go to this part of Texas anyhow.

I choose this hotel because of location. Got the king spa because we like a tub . But we were given the wrong room key twice.she talked about having to move is even tho other room did not have the bath we paid 30$ extra for. Charged 25$ for my 4lb Yorkie . The faucets on the tub were backward... More

We stayed here last week. The shower was moldy, the sinks were stained, the tiles were cracked, the "jacuzzi" didn't fill and the hot water stopped working; the bathroom shower door didn't close and the bathroom had some weird cheap closet bifold door with no handle on the bathroom side (it didn't matter since the thing didn't close anyway) and... For the price, the El Dorado is a deal. The staff are friendly and accommodating; rooms are clean although basic. It also has a restaurant /bar and a deck to watch the sunset over the mountains. For a funky ,eclectic town, this is a good place to stay . They allow pets, too!
