Eldorado Hotel is right at the entrance to the Historic Terlingua Ghost Town. Lot's of nightly music in town. My sister, best friend and I stayed there for 3 nights for Viva Terlingua Music Festival. Owners are the Greatest! Friendly and welcoming. Food was wonderful at the restaurant. Rooms were big and clean. Very comfortable. Thanks! May do this again... More

Common wisdom suggests that Big Bend visitors must stay at the Chisos Mountain Lodge, but I like uncommon things myself. I thought Terlingua was an even better base - more restaurants, and a ghost-town setting (and getting a sunrise with both the ghost town and the mountains in view? Perfect). And the El Dorado was a great choice. We arrived... More

There is very limited hotel choice in the area and we settled on El Dorado as it looked to have reasonable reviews. Its right on the road as you go into Terlingua, so easy to find. The people are nice enough although it does seem like you're kind of stepping into "their world" a little. Terlingua is a whole world... More

Hotel room was clean, large and comfortable. Hotel has a restaurant & bar. They do have Wi-Fi, and management is very friendly. It is located in historic Terlingua Ghost Town. The hotel is not far from Big Bend National Park.

So relaxing to hang out on the patio. Enjoy the view! Terlinqua is the perfect place to wind down and forget! There aren't many choices of places to stay, but I felt this was the best choice and we were happy with it.

One thing people should understand when traveling to West Texas is that it's beautiful, HUGE, and breathtaking. People who live out west are laid back, very chill and quite friendly..as a lot of texans are. The big hotel chains and shopping chains are non existent and in my opinion, that's great! Local business owners are the ones who own and... More

You won't get luxury or the amenities of most hotels, but you will be conveniently located to the entrance of Big Bend National Park only about 5 miles away. Also, the hotel parking lot gives a beautiful view of the southern sky at night and we were able to faintly see the Milky Way one early morning during our stay.... More

Unless you are used to facilities like you'd find in a public camp ground, don't stay here. My tiny oom had a stench like there was a sewage problem on the premises. Never went away. A mattress on box springs, room not clean. You would stay here for the convenience to Big Big National Park only, so bring a tent... More

We just spent two nights at the hotel. Our room (#20) was large and clean. Jacuzzi in room was a good addition after long hikes. Terlingua ghost town provided some good eating options for breakfast and dinner. Don't expect 4 or 5 star luxuries but for the location, I give it a thumbs up!

If you're looking for luxury this is not your place. But if you're looking for a large, clean room with hot water, A/C, good bed (very firm) at a reasonable price you have found it. Everything in Terlingua Ghost town is in walking distance, restaurant food is good. We were able to get a room on very short notice.
