We rented a samll duplex for a week and stayed only one night. The room had an odor and the carpet had multiple stains. The kitchen appeared clean but there was evidence of mice recently. The shower cutain had an active mold circle approx 2 inches in diameter. It appeared the walls had been painted recently from the paint tracks... More

I stayed at and reviewed this hotel last year. I rated it poorly then. I gave it a second chance last week while taking my mother and sweetheart to Big Bend. My first mistake this time was to book this hotel through nationalparkreservations dot com. Do NOT do this. Contact the hotel directly if you wish to stay there (and... More

Recommended --- above average motel-type accommodations given the location in far southwest Texas. My family stayed here in two rooms: one standard room in the motel immediately off of the highway, another in one of the bigger rooms set back in newer buildings. While fairly basic in options, both rooms were clean and well-kept. People running the site were very... More

It was a basic room and was about the only place in the area to stay. The bathtub had a crack in the side and the toilets did not flush well. A little cramped for two people.

We stayed at this site in our fifth wheel. Location is convenient to visit the State Park. The sites were ok. We had could pick our own site so we looked for the most level one. The one next to us had deep ruts. It is a large, all gravel campground. Internet was to great. We were also lucky that... More

People were very friendly. We stayed at the rv park and, yes it was dusty but they had someone wetting down the roads. Come on people this is west Texas. They did what they could. They can't control the west Texas wind either. Easiest sewer dump as well. We didn't eat at the restaurant but heard it was quite good.... More

Minimal motor lodge. Nothing to look forward to after a long day of hiking but it does the job. Paid $89 over New Year's 2012 for a double bed room. Water came out rusty for the first couple of seconds and faucets leaked. Coyotes greeted us at our door one night and eventually we ran them off. Friends stayed in... More

We made reservations for several rooms. We had a late arrival (11:30 pm) and we were unable to call ahead since we literally had NO phone reception for the last several hundred miles of our trip. Any numbers we had for the property went unanswered. After driving around for an alternative, the Chisos Mining Co. Motel had a night phone.... More

We stayed here in Study Butte two nights while visiting Big Bend National Park. On the Plus side: The location is supreme, 2 miles from the west entrance of the National Park. We stayed in the motel (we got a room with 2 queen beds - nothing special but comfortable enough) but there is also a book/souvenir store by the... More

My husband and I rolled into Terlingua at about 6 PM a couple weeks ago, looking for a room to stay in before heading into Big Bend National Park the next morning for a 6 night camping trip. Our original plan was to tent camp that evening, but we were hot, hungry, and road-weary, so we decided to go for... More
