I booked this place in a panic when we woke up to 6" of snow on our camping trip to Big Bend National Park. I thought the location sounded quiet and park-like and the quiet part was true, being 36 miles from Terlingua, but the park-like setting not so nice due to the clutter of buildings. The cabins were old,... More

This is NOT a "hotel or even motel" experience. These cabins are rustic, outdated, run- down, and unkempt! We are POATRI Members and were fortunate enough to get the discounted price at the cabins...trust me when I say 1/2 off should be the going rate. We knew what to reasonably expect. No TV, no phone, no coffee maker... What we... More

Do you really want to drive 16 miles into the wilderness to stay in a trailer that is in desperate need of rehab (think Hurricane Katrina)? No food, seriously bring your own if you are crazy enough to do this. They advertise a restaurant but it was not serving food (at least not while we were there) and if they... More

If you are headed down to the Big Bend region of Texas, Terlingua is a must see destination. The ghost town is a lively mix of arts, ruins, music and good food. You can stay in Terlingua proper, but if you want a really unique experience, stay at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge. The lodge is located at the end of... More

Flew from Midland to Terlingua Ranch yesterday in the 182 for a burger. The strip is in pretty good shape. My main gear tires are 6.00's and handled the rocks/gravel ok. Not sure how a plane with smaller tires would do. Landing to the west on runway 20 is uphill. You need to be proficient in soft field landing and... More

Stayed here recently on a trip down to the area. If you're coming to this part of the country, I am assuming you like being remote and this place delivers. It's about 1/2 hour drive down a mostly paved road and 3 miles of dirt. Once you reach the lodge area, you'll find several cabins, RV and camp sites, a... More

We stayed at a cabin there last fall and it was great. The views were spectacular and management curtious. We do not play music , laugh and talk all night or drink beer - preferring instead to spend that money on a good set of tires.

This is an excellent place to stay close to Big Bend State Park and Terlingua. If you think you are staying at a Hyatt quality hotel you are wrong, this is a small privately owned hotel with excellent amenities and a real down home feeling. They have a little on site Cafe called the Bad Rabbit which is a fun... More

We flew into Terlingua Ranch for the July 4th weekend. Only stayed the night of the 4th, but loved it. It was quiet and peaceful after the hustle and bustle of Austin. The only draw backs were no refrigerators, and no gas. But, we planned for these things. We stopped in El Dorado on our way, fueled up and flew... More

The Badrabbit Cafe has been serving great breakfast as well as fresh cut french fries to order. Its far from the road, But isn't that why you are here? The pool is a killer way to watch the sky and sunsets.
