My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights at The Palms on South Padre Island. It is much like a "50s" resort - rooms open to the outside, good cafe, relaxed people, small but nice pool, relatively few rooms, beach-front, and quiet. The rooms are simple, but clean and beach-style, with refrigerator and microwave. Walk 3 minutes to the beach. Great... more

This was my first time ever to South Padre island, so this review cannot be separated by my delight at the discovery of a new, wonderful place. The beach is beautiful, the water WARM and clear and clean. The small dunes and grasses reminded me of Cape Cod decades ago. We were at SPI at a quiet, peacefultime of year.... more

This was our second visit to S. Padre Island, in as many years, and we truly wanted a nice place to stay regardless of price. Our visit was 4 nights from 6/12 thru 6/16. The Palms Resort is not cheap, but you do get a great location, heated pool, which our 4 yr old daughter loved more than the ocean,... more

When we first checked in we were put in a room poolside, but realized that with 2 dogs beachside was much better for us. The manager rearranged some reservations to make sure we were accomodated with beachside room. without inconveniencing anyone else and was very polite and accomodating to us. Room was very clean and very relaxing, almost like an... more

We have traveled to a number of beaches around the world and found the definition of a "perfect" stay unique to the location. Fortunately, with a bit of research we usually end up fairly satisfied with our hotel and location. That had never been true of our trips to South Padre...until now. The Palms Resort reminded me of the best... more

I wanted to add our comments on our stay at the Palms and read the one from the wedding guest. I have to wonder if it was their problem... Anyway, the staff was so helpful to us and the staff always seemed very happy and pleasant. The room was great, very clean and comfortable. The Cafe on the Beach has... more
