Ugh. Where do I start. Booked this one through hotels.com which I normally do not use. Seemed like a great rate at first, but after booking I was notified that there would be a $15 per person "destination fee" upon check in. I booked this room for my son and friends as they spent a night at the Island. Horrible!... More

Although not a brand new facility, The Inn at South Padre offers clean, family friendly service at an affordable price. Breakfast is included, and there's a lot of it - waffles, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy! The room we had was clean and the air conditioner was great - there was even a ceiling fan that made sleeping extra cool... More

My motorcycle club held our annual conference in South Padre Island and out of all the hotels competing for our business, we chose this one. Pamela, the hotel manager, is a kind, friendly, and charitable person who will bend over backwards so you feel like you are at home. Her hotel staff are held like part of her family and... More

As Captain Obvious says, this hotel is not what it looked like on the internet. The rooms are dirty (hair and toenails on carpet and in bathroom!!!!). You can't actually get internet unless you are standing on the balcony or in the hallway. There is literally no internet in the rooms. The vending machines are broken. The laundry takes quarters... I never write reviews but the treatment I received at the Inn at South Padre was so unexpectedly generous that this was the absolute least I could do to show my gratitude, and it still is not nearly enough. I came to the Inn at South Padre in a desperate situation. My friends and I had arrived for Spring Break... More

Cost and location were fine, but the hotel property needs some changes before it goes too far downhill. General cleanliness of common areas needs to be improved. Rooms are large with extra space for minibar/kitchen. However, room A/C has trouble keeping up with humidity and carpets could be cleaner. Staff communication also doesn't appear to be very good - had... More

I had a wonderful stay at the Inn February 21-23, 2014 as part of a group of 45 attending a conference. First of all, the Inn had plenty of friendly, competent staff at the front desk at all times to make check-in a breeze and to answer any questions that came up. Next, I was pleasantly surprised at the size... More

We were 5 minutes from the beach. Ocean was beautiful. All area recreation was close to the hotel. I would recomend breakfast somewhere else. Valentines Day was celebrated on the beach. Our friends were in Harlengen forty five minutes away, so we vi sted them

I reviewed this hotel once after a not so great experience and we were ultimately offered another stay by management. This review will address my 2nd most recent stay. This used to be a Howard Johnson but is now owned by a local real estate company. This is a lower average hotel. It is run down, but clean. The staff is... More

My wife and I spent two nights at South Padre recently during the Sand Castle sculpture competition. We normally visit SP during the week to avoid the weekend crowds, However this competition was scheduled for a Friday and Saturday so we chose a hotel on the bay or lagoon side of the island. The Inn at South Padre turned out... More
