Katy house is a Historic home in Smithville Texas. I have stayed there several times on Antique Weekends in Warrenton and Round Top. It is always beautiful and a home away from home. Sally is the owner and is a great cook. Smithville is the town where many movies have been filmed. My favorite is Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock... More

My wife and I visited the Katy House, staying in the Katy Tower, the weekend of her birthday (27-29 June 2014). We enjoyed our stay immensely (property, room, breakfast, ... everything). We had brought our bikes to Smithville and rode for several hours on several days without problem. The entire weekend was wonderful and we (along with another birthday gal)... More

Did this as a surprise for my mom flying in for Mother's Day from LA. I have to say that Sallie is very knowledgeable and helpful in providing the town's history and a delightful place for a delicious dinner. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had the Texas special which had an amazing porch and bathroom. The breakfast... More

My husband and I visited Katy House this past weekend. We stayed in the "Katy Limited" in the main house, and everything was perfect. We felt as though we had stepped back in time from the moment we entered Smithville, and Katy House continued that feeling. The house was in pristine condition, decorated with lovely antique furniture, and our room... More

We were so looking forward to everything to be as we read on the website, but upon arriving and seeing the For Sale sign in front, we knew it may not be. The innkeepers were out of the country and interim innkeepers were in their second week of running the Katy House. We were told that because the property is... More

Loved everything about this Bed and Breakfast. From walking into on the hardwood floors, looking at all the memorabilia from the Railroad, to the clawfoot bath in the 'Texas Special' suite. Just amazing history. Breakfast was a scrumptious homemade bread, eggs, homemade preserves, fruit and many more options. Easy check in and easy check out. Would definitely stay here again.

Katy House B&B is a charming place to spend the weekend in historic Smithville. The delicious breakfast is the icing on the cake! Visit in the autumn. You can walk two blocks to downtown, you can visit the Chamber of Commerce Visitors' Center, shops and have a delicious dinner at Back Door Cafe.

This grand old house is located two short blocks from antique row and a tiny park by the railroad tracks. The curtain surrounding the clawfoot tub in our private bathroom (sink nestled in an old trestle sewing machine table) and the bedroom decorated with train pictures (and a gorgeous quilt on the big wooden bed) set the atmosphere. I loved... More
