If you are staying in or around San Marcos, OR NOT, this place is exactly what you want in a relaxing getaway! Centralized location, quaint quiet room (we stayed in the rock house) three days and all three breakfasts out did each other, late checkout, the staff was so nice ask Kacee or Regina for anything and they will accommodate.... I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is clean, comfortable, and well-located. The spa at the inn is really great, and the massage therapists are wonderful! With the exception of one all-carbohydrate breakfast, the food was amazing. I don't care how fancy the breakfast is, selection is better. For some that would have been wonderful, but for me, a... The best thing about The Crystal River Inn is the location. Its right on the way thru town and only about a block away from the Town Square where all the bars and most of the restaurants are located. There is a great little bar next door and a very nice restaurant next door to that. Your close enough to... More

Very affordable in the perfect location in San Marcos, the Inn is a historic house, staff is very professional and friendly. The linens divine and the bed was wonderful. The rooms are old but very clean and the furnishings are appropriate for the old mansion. The breakfast was scrumptious and they accomodated my wife's aversion to eggs and prepared a... More

It was a nice bed & breakfast on a very busy, loud street close to railroad tracks. We stayed in Pedernales room which is located next to the loud, busy street and railroad tracks. They should not rent those front upstairs rooms! We had a hard time sleeping, and the noise was not conducive to staying in our room. The... More

We stayed one night in the medina room. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast they provided was good. The coffee is fantastic....and I don't really like coffee so that's saying a lot! Our room was super clean and the bed was extremely comfy. The only drawbacks were that the decor was quite dated ( wallpaper was peeling away... More

We have just spent two nights at the Crystal River Inn to attend a function at the university. Our room, the Cypress Creek, was huge with two twin beds. It was located next door in the Thomas House. Comfortable beds with soft linens and a good powerful window unit ac made for good sleeping. Breakfast each morning was set in... More

Stayed in the Pedernales room for 3 nights. Was hot when first arrived but realized the vents were completely closed. Once open room was very comfortable. Linens were fresh everyday with fresh towels and supplies. The breakfasts were great and we also had a picnic lunch prepared for us that was just wonderful. Hats off to Terri, Regina, Tracy, Paula... This trip was a surprise from my husband, and he really picked a great place! From the picnic lunch when we arrived, to the wonderful restaurant they recommended, to the in-room breakfast, and finally the wonderful spa treatment and massage...this was a great experience. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice couples getaway.

This is a popular BandB and I would not discourage anyone from staying there. Having said that you should understand the website paints a different picture than the actual facilities. We were not in a beautiful old home but rather an old house that needed work. Ice box was not stocked. No shampoo that we could find. Dirty towels not... More
