Among the several sorts of hotel lodgers there are two types who are often at odds: the tourist type looking for a quaint hotel experience and the more practical traveler who cares mostly that things work at a fair price. I'm more of the latter type but can appreciate the former. The Rocksprings Hotel meets the needs of both types.... More

On my second trip to the Lone Star State, I was very pleasantly surprised by the Wolcott's Historic Rocksprings Hotel. The 100-year-old property was more than accommodating, and the hotelier, Deb, made us feel very welcome. I know it's a cliche, but she really treated us like family. The rooms were extraordinarily comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Downstairs conveys the feeling... More

Aside from the dusty floors of the hotel room, this place is quite possibly one of my favorite places I've stayed. No, not luxurious… just really really special. A beautiful ode to an era gone by, with a wonderful hostess (Deborah), a done-up kitchen for you to host your own beautiful meal in (I purchased organic groceries in Fredericksburg since... More

Deborah was the consummate hostess from our initial greeting at the front door, our tour of the hotel and our conversations throughout our visit. She made our group of 8 bikers feel at home. The hotel had everything we needed and provided a beautifully furnished lobby, living area, dining area & kitchen that were available to all guests. If you... More

Charming and historic hotel in an out of the way small town without much else to offer unless you are interested in a place to which to escape or want to look at bats during bat season. Bring your own food to take advantage of the wonderful kitchen plus to stay away from in town restaurants which do not have... More

This is a real gem in the middle of sheep and goat country. A lovely place with a gracious hostess. I think it is now my favorite Texas hotel. Beautifully furnished lobby. A great place to stop on your way to Seminole Canyon or points west.

We had the most brilliant stay at the Rocksprings Hotel in Texas. It was a fantastic old hotel that felt like a warm, comfy home. everything about the place felt elegant, homely and clean. The hostess Deborah, was absolutely gorgeous - friendly, helpful and knowledgable . It is worth going out of your way to stay at this hotel. The... More

Another successful trip to Rocksprings with another pleasant stay at the hotel. Everything we wrote last time is still true, but some spring cleaning needs to be done in the rooms. Other than that, there are no complaints!

We had the privilege of staying at this charming hotel three times while we searched for property in this hidden gem of the Texas Hill Country. Each visit was made perfect by the warm welcome by the owner and her precious dog, Roscoe. After each day's long and tiring tour of backroads and dusty walks, we returned to the peace... More
