My wife and I stayed here on a Tuesday night on our way to a vacation in Arkansas. First, THE GOOD: This is a restored Victorian style home in a quiet neighborhood of Palestine, Texas. We stayed in a ground-floor room (the Sage Room) that was tastefully decorated with antiques, but still felt homey. The property owners were polite and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and everything worked. The room was large, and had a cable TV, a DVD player and a large clawfoot tub. One of the property owners is a chef who runs a cafe in the back part of the property, and the eggs benedict the next morning were amazing. The best part was the price. We paid only about $10 more than we would have if we had stayed at the local Holiday Inn. In fact, we actually saved a few dollars since breakfast was included. THE BAD: No major problems, really.
