We came to Palacios for business and to celebrate our anniversary. We found our room delightful, great view of the bay, the food fantastic, and a perfect getaway from the city. Paula is a creative and tremendous cook! Would recommend this jewel to anyone!

I wish we were here longer than 2 nights. The view of the bay is fantastic. Great location for birdwatching. It even has a widows-walk that you are allowed to use. Great common rooms on the first floor (the porches are my favorite--one outside, one enclosed). Paula is fantastic!

My husband and I spent two nights here and absolutely loved it! Gorgeous house and views, our hostess Paula was fantastic and the bay was stunning. Delicious breakfasts and so relaxing. Our room was very comfortable with a private bath and claw foot tub. We would love to return!!

We live near Houston and wanted to find a new place to get away and visit that isn't full of tourist. My husband found the town, but I keep telling him I found the best part. The Peaceful Pelican! We booked the room and within a day or so the owner called to see if there were any food allergies,... More

This place is so beautiful and serene. The view from the front porch of the bay to the east is incredible. So is the breakfast, and the room on the second floor with the same view, a large shower plus claw foot tub, and sleep number bed. The houses are not close to each other and do not have fences.... My husband and I just returned form a weekend stay at The Peaceful Pelican. The Inn Keeper, Paula, was most gracious and attentive. The views from the front porch were absolutely amazing. The house itself has such wonderful charm and is very quiet even with a full house! We will definitely be making a return trip.

great location with a view over the bay. Quiet road and very peaceful. Owner very pleasant and eager to help with local information. breakfast was homemade quiche - very tasty. Had a king size bed in a very comfortable room (en suite). Would definitely stay here again.

This is a wonderful old home, located on the east bay side of Matagorda Bay. Great porches for sitting out in the evening. The price is pretty steep for the room we had. It was called the First Floor Suite. Had a good king-sized bed in the bedroom; but the rollaway bed in the "sitting" room was completely inadequate for... More

We stayed here with Edith one night on our way to South Padre Island. She is selling the business but the B&B is nonetheless up to par and you wouldn't know it if the signs out front was taken up. She was courteous, friendly and took some time to tell us a short bio and history of herself and the... More

For the first two nights we were the only people on the property. The breakfast was good and prepared by a wonderful host, Lindsay. The room had the best of views, the Bay and the street was quiet that runs in front of the property. This is a BB so no TV, however the internet was good and there is... More
