Pretty primitive. Bathroom had no working lights. We were the only campers so it was pretty freaky and dark and scary at night. Concession store closed. Nobody here. The campsite was clean and pretty and private. Lots of spiders and caterpillars and flies aplenty. I wouldn't swim in the "lake". It was low and i suspect had snakes living there.... More

I frequently use this park as a parking place when I get out on the lonestar trail. It can also be used as a drop off or pick up point from the Lonestar Trail. There usually isn´t anyone at the info station. You will have to fill out a card and pay at the auto pay box. There is a... More

I love the mountain bike trails at this park, they are fast and flowy! The campground is decent. Fairly large, private spaces. Fairly level and clean! If you are not into mountain biking, hiking, or just relaxing at your campsite, there is not much else here.

We spent one night in this campground. The sites are private with lots of trees. It was very clean and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. Although dated, the restrooms and showers were nice and clean.

We went back to Double Lake this weekend for probably the 12th time in the past two years. In spite of still recovering from the drought, it's my favorite weekend getaway. As another reviewer mentioned, if you're looking for state-of-the-art facilities, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for clean restrooms, friendly staff and a relaxing experience,... We had a blast this Thanksgiving!! BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!! We had 13 people w/ 2 camptrailers and 1 tent on a double campsite. Great and safe natue walk for kids. Almost every campsite was full, yet it never felt crowded! We took beautiful senic family pictures! And if we needed anything from "civilization", there was a grocery store 10 mins away!

Just stayed here. Really enjoyed the place, no troubles at all, bath rooms are dated but kept pretty clean. I really didn't see any trash anywhere in the park. RV sites are very spacious, trails are nice. Highly recommend this place. Only negative thing k can say about this place is a think the park host needs to to tidy... More

Double Lake Recreation Area has recovered from last year's drought. The bike trails are open again as is the swim lake. This is a beautiful wooded place to camp and a nice place for day visitors to picnic and swim. The restrooms and showers were well maintained. We will be back in the fall when it cools off a little!

We've camped their 5 times last year, actually were there on June 10-13th, and can guarantee the camp hosts were on site as well as the Ranger. We camped right across from the hosts this time at site 63 and talked to the Ranger at least once a day and waved to him when he was driving his rounds the... More

The lake has now dried up and gone away. The campground is still listed as open, but noone even works there any more. Their sign at the entrance says "no fishing, no swimming, no campfires or charcoal bbq grills. Only propane bbq grill allowed." There was 6 inches of grass where the lake used to be. They didn't even warn... More
