This was by far the worst B&B I've ever been to. Beds comfy but the ceiling fan flopped and banged loudly and looked as if it would fall. Bright light beaming in your room so don't expect to sleep in. No locks on room doors! Misc junk inside dresser drawers. Dogs in the guest area when she's in there. Ate... More

My husband and I just left there and found a Hotel. We paid $440.00 for two nights. Soon as we arrived Cheryl spoke of all the other visitors that had stayed and how they broke this and that and how much she charged them for extra cleaning and etc. The dog was barking and Cheryl was in the hall bad... I would not recommend Antoinette's Cottage at all. We had what was considered a 2 Bedroom but the Bathroom was in the second room with the shower being open to the bed and the sink in the corner of the room There was no privacy, I tried to take a shower before my daughter got up and had to put... I visited my daughter who is a college student at Texas State and we stayed a night here so we could have an adventure in Gruene. It was just perfect for that purpose. We stayed in Ernst's room and found it cozy, inviting, comfortable and large. The furnishings were beautiful and we felt quite at home. There were no other... More

The Good: Location, front porch, and shower. The Bad: Upon our late arrival (9:45pm) eager to enjoy a night out on the town, we were berated with impertinent personal facts by the proprietor while she charged us for the room. When we finally got a word in to inquire as to how to lock our rooms, she replied, "the bedroom... More

Dogs everywhere. Intrusive, lonely proprietor who won't leave you alone. Wasps all over. No locks on doors. Truly the strangest experience ever. We left and stayed elsewhere for safety concerns. Check other reviews. Gruene is a blast, just don't stay here.

I had a most delightful weekend at Antoinettes's Cottage, the personalized touches were just priceless. I have been to many hotels Hiltons , Hyatts and Lowes Resorts but I never saw all the service and attention I got here. I was made to feel comfortable and more at home than anywhere I have visited. I plan to visit often. If... More

Since it was the last weekend before school started, I was having a hard time finding a place to celebrate my birthday weekend. Luckily Antoinette's Cottage was the one place that wasn't completely booked up. I got a chance to book the whole weekend for me and my girlfriends. The owner, Cheryle, gave me a chance to get my plans... More

I had booked "Hannah's Room" from the website which apparently does not even exist. We were put in one room which we changed from because the bedroom door wouldn't even close. Breakfast was not what was advertised on the website. I think we got whatever she found left in the refrigerator. We also got to visit with her 5 dogs... More

I'm very sorry that this guest did not express her concerns to me in a timely manner. She was placed in the most requested room, with her own air conditioner. The air conditioner can be turned on to give white noise to drown out the NEW bar across the street, which has since been made to tone down their noise... More

We stayed here after Hurricane Ike when we lost our power for 3 weeks in Houston - We stayed almost a week - The owner was very hospitable - the 2 bedroom purple room suite was a godsend as i could close the big solid pocket doors and close off my snoring husband -the bedrooms were decorated in authentic period...
