The location is perfect, just the right amount of wilderness with nearby city conveniences. The river access is easy to get to (I am disabled). the place was quiet, and we enjoyed our neighbors. The only thing that would make it better would be if the on-site store stayed open later.

Stayed with my husband there a couple of weekends ago. Headed back tomorrow. I love the laid back feel of the place. It's nice to get away and relax for the weekend. It seems to be a well kept and safe place if you have a travel trailer also. Headed back tomorrow :)

We have gone 2 yrs in a row and are planning a 3rd. We love that it has easy access to the river and very relaxing since we go before summer vacations begin. The cabins are not that great but ok since we usually just go for the minimum stay. Just wish the 2 bedroom cabin had 2 bathrooms and... More

Me, my husband and my brother stayed here for a road trip get away to site see and fish. The owners/employees were ALL very friendly and gave us some helpful tips when we rented some of their kayaks. We had the place to our selves for the most part which was really nice and the cabins were totally worth our... More

The only thing good about this place is the river access. The cabins are extremely bare, 2 rolls of toilet paper was all there was. We traveled with a large group, rented 4 RV spots and a cabin and was harassed every night by the "security" which was just an old man in a golf cart. The second night, which... More

My husband and I just spent 8 months at Rio Raft & Resort (aka Rio Guadalupe now) and had an excellent experience both winter and summer. (December through August). In winter, most guests are "Winter Texans", retirees who have RVs or rent the cabins for a few months to get away from the cold up north. The Camp Host(ess) Karen... More

There are a lot of rules, but if you want a quiet vacation you will get one. They are sticklers about the noise and the people in the cabin next to us were quieted down every night. I am sure they were not happy, but we were. The cabins are very plain and you have to bring everything. The kitchen... More

We were extremely disappointed with our cabin and especially the size of our bedroom and bathroom and the lack of (or should I say NONE) closets or shelveing! We paid ALOT of money for our cabin!!!!! We were also scolded 2 nights for having loud music. You NEED to update your facility and get with this decade Other than that... More

After thoroughly reading there strict rules and calling to double check before we left to go camping for our family reunion trip, we loaded up our electric ice chests to transport between campsites and showers/restrooms, we then drove 4 hours to this supposedly wonderful campsite. This campsite is a wonderful location, after riding to the park store where the attendants... More

We have stayed at several RV camps in the area. The amounts of rules at the Rio Raft Resort is ridiculous. At check-in they hand you a list of all their rules, and also have them posted every where. Then have someone drive around at least every ten minutes to make sure that you aren't breaking the rules. We had... More
