The Gruene River Inn sits high above the Guadeloupe River with balconies and great views. Interesting Inn with B&B amenities. The Rio Grande had high ceilings, a queen bed with SW decor, a huge jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace for colder weather. The balcony was small, but room to sit and take in the view. Friendly owner, lots of snacks... More

Great view from balcony. Nice rooms with gas fireplace adds special touch. Great breakfast. Super friendly staff to greet you. Snacks available in main area in case you get hungry at night (very thoughtful). Close to attractions. Bed was comfortable -- wish it was a little larger. Can't wait to get back for another overnight stay!

I called last minute and was able to get a great room at an amazing price. This place is very nice and clean. The views from our balcony were amazing! It was 29 degrees the night we stayed, so the fireplace in our room was awesome! It was very cozy and romantic! They offer a variety of wine and other... More

We stayed for our anniversary. The rooms are very nice, with large oversized jacuzzi tubs. We were able to walk down to the banks of the Guadalupe River from the hotel, where benches were set up, and enjoy a bottle of wine to celebrate. Just a few minutes walk from downtown historical Gruene, this hotel is also perfect for people... More

So glad we decided to book this hotel which is about a five minute walk from the centre of Gruene. Whilst other accommodation might be closer, none have the magnificent views like the Gruene River Inn. As soon as you enter, you find yourself in another world - a majestic high ceilinged living room with huge windows blows your mind... More

We absolutely adore staying at The Gruene River Inn! We have been coming here for the past 5 years. We try to come at least twice a year! Staying here over our Thanksgiving Break is a must!!! This is a review for the Red Brick Cottages behind the Red Brick Inn not for the Gruene River Inn Building. It is exactly as Kay describes it below. It is a dump! It is in very bad need of an update. The staff are very nice and helpful but they need to do something about the RB "cottages". It... More

Thanks for spreading the word about our one-of-a-kind view of the river, Mery! I'll be sure to let the staff know how much you enjoyed your stay. Besides possibly adding coffee pots in the rooms, is there anything else we could improve on for your next visit? All the best, Bill Evans More

Stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. Didn't have any problems with noise like some other reviewers but we didn't get back to Gruene until 1A each night so maybe that's why. Stayed in the Comal room. Clean but sparsely furnished with nowhere to place a bag or suitcase other than the bare hardwood floor. You have to walk... More

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. A few of our guest rooms have the swinging doors that separate the tub from the sink and toilet area. This allows for more privacy. We do have sign in our guest baths that reads"Dear Guest, the towels are inventoried upon your departure. Missing items wil be charged to... More

We stayed in the little red cottages that are in town near Gruene Hall for a girlfriend reunion. The location is great but the units are shabby. The furnishings and bedding look like they all came from a garage sale in the 80's. The bedspreads looked like they had not been washed in years and smelled like perfume from the... More
