Wow! I have stayed in several bed and breakfasts over the years and this is by far my favorite! Pam and Bud were so friendly and made us feel like part of their family. I couldn't believe my teenager actually put her phone away when we went swimming the warm, inviting pool. I have so many positives to say about... more

My husband and I stayed at Acorn Hill for a week during the summer. We had such a fantastic time! The pool was so refreshing. The breakfasts were delicious, we never left hungry!! Acorn Hill is in the perfect location, we never had to drive far to Gruene, Canyon Lake, or San Marcos!!! Pam, the owner is a wonderful host.... more

There was nothing horrible about this facility. However, neither was there anything special about it. The proce was excessive for the value provided. The furniture and food were adequate, but the facilities and the breakfast were ordinary. I am accustomed to a bed and breakfast that had distinction. This one was not an improivement over a 3-star motel. more

I recently stayed at the Acorn Hill Bed & Breakfast, and was very disappointed. It was definitely not worth the price. The size of the room was fine, and it was clean, but there was nothing special about the place. The television did not work, and when I left a note asking for someone to fix the tv, it was... more

I booked this wonderful bed and breakfast for family coming for a wedding, and what a wonderful time we all had. First of all, we were welcomed warmly by the owner and her mother when we came to pay for the cottages and suites and to collect the keys. We were given a tour to help us decide which facilities... more

This B&B is 7 miles west of Gruene on Hiway 306. Anyone wanting to roll out of bed and stroll the streets of Gruene will be disappointed. The Log House room 'Sophia' was clean, well appointed with antiques. It had a queen bed, en suite bath and separate sitting area with day bed and small refrigerator. The TV had a... more

Charming with a great location near the Guadalupe River, Gruene, Canyon Lake and New Braunfels. The breakfasts were tasty, not overbearing. However, management was nowhere to be found after breakfast, if you needed anything; such as a light bulb, or the heater turned on for the hot tub. The rooms are nicely decorated with antiques. We had one with a... more

Let me begin by saying this is the first time I have ever posted a negtative report about any of our vacations. Our family rented the whole Acorn B&B for three days recently. Don't be misled by the little charming cottages. The whole three days we were served casseroles, sometimes salty, and what looked and tasted like store bought cakes.... more

My wife and I just returned from Acorn Hill. We visited 7-17-04 and had such a wonderful time. Pam and Richard really make you feel like you belong there. The only regrets we have is that we didn't buy one of Pam's cookbooks. We would like to thank Pam and Richard for their hospitality. We will always remember them and... more

Recently on a trip to Houston, my husband and I decided to take a scenic route and drove through New Braunsfield to Austin then Houston. We stop at the Acorn Hill Bed and Breakfast for the night. It was a wonderful choice. The little cottages were beautiful. The landscaping was such a relaxing and beautiful view that you felt that... more
