We stayed in the smaller Doe Stowey Cabin and it was large enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. It was very comfortable and the golf carts were a hit with the kids! We saw deer, rabbits, turtles and fireflies! The cabins are very secluded and aren't visible to each other. The decor was tasteful and the king bed was... More

Donna E. Thank you so much for your kind words about Stag Leap Country Inn. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We work hard to make Stag Leap a great place for everyone, and kids do love the golf carts. Seeing the wildlife in its natural environment is really cool, especially for those who live... More

My wife and I have had the opportunity to stay at Stag Leap several time over the past few years. We are business owners in Houston and this wonderful place has become our personal getaway retreat. We are able to rest and recharge in a private cabin of our choice surrounded by a beautiful wooded property. An unexpected treat for... More

My husband and I wanted to have a short little getaway before school starts back up. I've never been to this part of Texas before and when searching for places to stay that were private and secluded, Stag Leap was in the list. It sounded exactly like what I was looking for, even a private outdoor jacuzzi at their most... More

Our family has enjoyed 5 different stays at Stag Leap. Every year our sons and our Grandkids want to return for the next year; they never get tired of being at Stag Leap. Wayne and Mattie are very gracious and accommodating hosts; they want their guests to enjoy their facility, and do everything they can to accomplish that goal.

The Stag Leap Country Inn was the right choice for my boyfriend and I over Memorial Day weekend 2014. We wanted somewhere with peace and quiet and the place had it in abundance! We toured and shopped Nacogdoches which is only a short drive from the Stag Leap. Mattie was a sweet hostess and the cabin had everything we needed... More

My cousin attends Stephen F. Austin State University. We went to Nacogdoches, TX to visit him (charming place). I was not interested in staying in motels or 3 star hotels so we luckily found Stag Leap Country Inn. Our cabin was named: Harts Landing (we had 3 adults and 2 children in our group). This cabin was perfectly suited for... More

We spent three winter months in the Harts Landing cabin and found the place charming. The 200 plus acres of deep woods and golf cart paths are perfect for hiking and bike riding. Mattie, Wayne, and Kirby are the perfect hosts….They were there when we wanted information or help, and otherwise, our stay was very private. All of the cabins... More

I rented the Antler's Cabin for my moms 78th birthday. It was an all girls weekend. Me, my 3 daughters 33, 24, 22, a niece 23, and mom. We loved the cabin. It was big and open. We did not feel crowded at all. There was more than enough place to sleep. The kitchen was small but full size. Besides,... More

This inn was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. My husband and I just wanted a simplistic, quaint place to relax and Stag Leap was amazing in that regard. Not only were the cabins private, but service is great and both my husband and I were extremely comfortable. The cabins are sweet and simple, clean and tidy, and I... More
