Ok, this is a hotel and a family house, a bit like B&B with bar and live musik from time to time. It is defently not a five star hotel, but has athmosphere and the rooms are recently renovated. If you want to use your mobil phone you have to walk 200 yrd up the road. more

I recently stayed at the hotel as part of a tour. Our entire group was unhappy with our stay. Although the accommodations are a bit cramped, it was expected and is normal for small accommodations/hostels. I would never have considered this place a hostel although it is clearly a family home. I was shocked to discover those guests who didn't... more

I utterly utterly disagree with the other posters. I stayed at the Edinbane Hotel in September 2005 as part of a tour group. I found the hotel to be good value for what it is - an inexpensive family-run hotel. For the record, I met the kids but don't remember seeing any pets. Rooms - Although the dorms are quite... more

Just a word of warning to potential customers of Mr Bill Hall 'of' the management. I paid a lot of money upfront to Mr Hall and alas never got the service I requested. Time and time again I have tried to get a satisfactory refund of monies paid to him. Many written requests and many telephone calls for my funding... more

I very much agree with the earlier reviews. Dirty, dank and dismal - and yes, it does smell. The staff are surly in the extreme, and not in the least helpful. I also wonder whether the bar is for the staff or the guests. Various animals running about the place does make one wonder about the hygiene. One to avoid,... more

It is everyone’s right to express an opinion as to what they find on a visit, the sad thing about this review is that it is carried out by someone who does not know the hotel. We are a small highland hotel offering a warm friendly atmosphere, my partner and I live on the premises with out five children they...

Whoever wrote that Edinbane Hotel was a place to be avoided needs to either stick their hand deep into their pockets and pay for five star accomodation, or else reconsider what an inexpensive family run hotel should be like. Edinbane hotel is friendly, lively and good value - the proof is the number of visitors who regard it as their... more

This place is strange and it smells strange as well. Do not go here! The food is disgusting, the kitchen had a bag of used nappies in it. There is a rabbit jumping about upstairs, every room stunk of rabbit droppings, we even found a cloth with rabbit droppings in the bathroom. There was loads of beasties in the bathrooms.... more
