A previously good hotel is looking a bit tired this year. Refurbishment has begun but many rooms and public areas are looking shabby. During our latest visit they celebrated their 25th birthday,while self-congratulatory speeches and presentations were taking place poolside, a sustained, noisy but good natured workers union protest was outside. Stayed here last week and must say it was great. Had visited it earlier in the year and had a few drinks there while on the island in March decided that when next visiting we would try it. Yes - it's the first Hotel for many years where you can get up for breakfast whenever you want, stroll out to the pool area and there are still sun beds available. Stayed at the h10 Conquistador for a week in July and have no complaints. Initial impression when entering reception for the first time are good. Staff speaks +- for 80 % Englisch. Reception at last five members speaks Dutch. Not one cockroach seen in the hotel (4th floor, renovated room (escalator 2002) and vieuw on las Americas).
