So glad I chose The Birdcage this time! Having stayed at a number of gay resorts in Playa/Maspalomas, I chose The Birdcage this time, and I am so happy I did! Everything from start to end is a 5star for me. Greeted by management at arrival was a good start along with greetings from other guests. I had booked a suite and got the Phoenix Cage. Could not be happier with what I got; a sizeable livingroom with lots of storage for clothes and the most filled minibar ever, seperate bedroom with a queensized bed with a duvet (and fluffy pillows to match) in stead of the normal thin sheet, and the biggest bathroom of the resort with both a bathtub and a seperate colourchanging rainshower. Lovely! The grounds gives the feel of an oasis, with palms and lots of vegetation in addition to the pool, jacuzzi, lounges and a seperate "sandy beach" area. The staff could not be friendlier, especially Ralf, who was a ray of light by himself, always making sure everything was perfect! Cudos to him! Breakfast was served everyday, with a small buffet and kitchen options, and a lunchmenu from noon could be ordered poolside if wanted. The place feels calm and relaxed for visitors, yet the Yumbo is only a short walk away for your party out nights. So happy I chose to be a birdie this time, and I now dont see any reasons to choose something else for my next stay. See you again this fall!

An extremely well run intimate resort with attention to every detail. The management and staff have a family feel to them. I have stayed here three times now. I was unlucky first time as some building renovation was taking place but the results of this are now there for all to see and well worth the minor inconvenience. Perfect quiet tucked away location and yet just a few minutes walk to the Yumbo and all its night life. A very pleasant turnover of friendly guests during the week as well.

Our second visit to the Birdcage and just as amazing as before. Tom and Stefan continue to work constantly, maintaining and upgrading the resort to such a high standard. It was also really nice to get to know them a bit better. Last time we were in the Dove cage but this time we had upgraded to the Pelican cage which afforded us a greater living space, private garden and sunbeds. Roland, Ralf and the team kept the place immaculate and the breakfast provided daily was delicious, as were the meals we ordered at lunch. We will definitely be back again next year, to be honest I can’t imagine booking anywhere else when visiting PDI.

It's pretty with rooms set in gardens. It's in a quiet location but the Yumbo centre is 5 mins away. Big comfortable bed, fridge freezer, efficient shower. If you dont want to leave the pool they do lunches. Irritatingly Tripadvisor has told me I have to have a min of 200 caracters but I've run out of things to say

Such an amazing place. From the moment you arrive it’s a sleek operation. The team clearly love what they do. Exceptionally clean, beautiful grounds, surprisingly cheap well stocked supplies im the mini bar which is perfect when services end around 6pm. I can’t fault the team, Tom was brilliant as was his co-worker (who sadly name I can’t remember). I just loved the whole experience. It’s a little pricey for a single traveller but you definitely get what you pay for. I can’t wait to return. Thanks again. Mark x

We are a little late writing our review after our stay at The Birdcage over Christmas and New Year due to returning back to normal hectic life but we just wanted to thank Tom and Stefan for an amazing holiday and for being such lovely hosts. All the staff at The Birdcage are fantastic but we have to give a special mention to Roland and Ralf as we dealt them more on a day to day basis and they were so attentive and couldn’t do enough to help. We have stayed at several places in Gran Caneria but nowhere comes close to The Birdcage, the food is amazing, especially the breakfast and the bacon is out of this world! The gardens and pool area is so tranquil and relaxing. All of the rooms are beautiful, spacious, high end with all modern amenities and extra large smart tv’s…your room is also cleaned daily as if by magic while you eat breakfast. Another nice thing about The Birdcage is the other guests that you meet at breakfast or while laying round the pool who you spark up conversation, become friends and make connections with. When you stay at The Birdcage you forget your staying at a resort….it feels like your home away from home. We have already booked and very much looking forward to our 2024 holiday at The Birdcage. Our first time here, and booked allready a new trip early 2024.! A true diamond we can say. We were looking for a cosy resort where we could charge our batterys from our busy lives and we found it here! We stayed at a garden suite, besides the large bed, cosy sofa and wonderful rain shower. We also were surprised by the tv. Mostly we don't watch tv but here is a smart tv where you can easily log in to your own streamingservice like netflix or disney+. The breakfast is delicious but also the lunch, eventho this is not included it is fresh, lots of choices and even cheaper then most lunchrooms in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and takes care of all your needs. We also took both a massage which we surely can recommend!

This place is a real gem. The staff are so friendly and attentive, they can't do enough for you. The location is perfect for the Yumbo center (5 mins walk) , and there are many shops, restaurants and bars very close by. The hotel itself is a beautiful setting. A good size pool, plenty of space to relax and soak up the sun, whether you like to lay back on a sunbed next to the pool, chill out in a hammock or sit back in a deck chair with your toes in the sand, this place has it all. A good variety of food is available while you lay back and enjoy your day, all brought to you, you don't have to move a muscle. The room was lovely, the bed very comfortable. The mini bar is well stocked and not at all expensive. We loved it here so much we booked for next year before we left. Looking forward to returning.

Second stay. Fabulous. Upgraded to a suite just off the pool area - bedroom, bathroom, sitting room plus private terrace to sit or lounge on - and a private garden. You cannot be more central. You can always park just outside, off the main road, and the Yumbo and a good supermarket are both less than five minutes away. bed was the comfiest ever - amazing pillows. Breakfast - buffet plus cooked to order - was delicious and leisurely. The staff are a delight. We booked to return in March before we even left.
