Wonderful location ; right onto beach and costal walk for miles. Great pool and gardens. Room size small for 5 star and back rooms face noisy road. Breakfast : good. Pool menu limited. Staff could learn to smile.

My daughter and I booked a double room each for christmas week through Low Cost Holidays. The Hotel is rated 5*. In our estimation it's 20 years out of date and we would rate it 3* for comfort and 2* for the food offering. Dark bedrooms, wonky old shower over a bath thats seen better days. We paid 5* star... A lovely peaceful resort, great to stay here if you want to stay off the beaten track. There aren't many close Options to eat out, but enough if only there for a week. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The food area had lots of choice for breakfast and staff were always happy to help. Evening entertainment was poor,... More

In retrospect, the best feeling about a hotel is whether or not one would go to it again. In our case, the answer is yes. Its location in San Agustin is ideal as it is in a slightly less congested area than Maspolomas for example. The hotel is not absolutely perfect, nothing ever is, but a couple of little problems... Despite of the fact that we were very disappointed with our first visit to Melia Tamarindos last year (which you can read in our first review of this hotel) we gave it another chance and visited it again about a month ago. So here is an updated review of our stay: This time we knew exactly what to expect (and... More

San Agustin dont offer much in terms of bars / restaurants so a walk or taxi is required. Hotel is very clean but standard rooms are just that, very small and old furniture. Upgrade to a suite its worth it. It comes with an extra called the level but dont expect any royal service. Drinks are wine the choice of 4... More

Stayed in plenty of 5 star hotels so have good experience to base my opinion around. Booked for 10 nights in a standard room, AI for £156 a day for myself, the wife and our 13 year old son, a fair price. Arrived at reception and as our son is 6 foot tall they placed us in a 2 bedroom... More

Stayed for a week with husband. Booked a junior suite with sea view. Check in staff were friendly enough, but because our suite was on the third floor meant that we had separate check in at the 'Level Three' reception which made the process a bit long winded. Apparently if you are on this floor you have quite a few... More

We have stayed at the Melia in Madeira and this one doesn't compare well. Agree with other reviews that the five star rating is not deserved. Not the friendliest welcome at reception and then allocated a room that hadn't been cleaned, they weren't very apologetic. Floor in main areas covered in towels as there had been a downpour, but wouldn't... More

We really enjoyed our stay as a couple here, kitchen was awesome and large enough to actually cook in unlike other melias where they want you to do their all inclusive...we did not go to any restaurants on site so no opinion of them. Room was spacious with gorgeous ocean view. We didn't use many of the other facilities besides... More
