Just returned from a week in the Royal Club and really enjoyed it. The food and service were superb. Well stocked self-service bar serving internationally recognised branded drinks. They also had a stock of other premium drinks, malt whiskey, vintage brandy, liquors etc but you had to ask for them to be served as they were stored out of sight.... more

Having read an earlier review of the Royal Club I decided to upgrade my stay at the Occidental and wasn't disappointed. We booked via First Choice and stayed in early November. Up-graded to Royal Club when we first arrived on 13th Sept for 2 weeks.We stayed in the main hotel last year and, although we enjoyed it, didn't rate the food very highly, disliked the hectic meal times and queueing for drinks so at the last minute decided to up-grade. Booked this holiday about 3 weeks before departure, made the major mistake of booking it THEN reading the tripadvisor reviews!!
