We went hiking to the Refuge de Miage, it is beautiful view there, with the snow cap. We did not stay at the refuge, but we had a stopover for dessert and coffee. The choice for tarte is either framboises or myrtilles. It was a pleasant stop. The lunch menu looks great; there were guests having fondue or charcuterie.

We stayed in a room rather than a dorm. It was not heated but we slept warmly. The buildings were delightful and the setting is stunning. The hosts were helpful and kind, and the food was yum. Bread, jam, butter, coffee, tea and cocoa for breakfast, and a huge spread for dinner served family style, omelette, salad, bread, cheese, tarts... More

Going over the Col du Tricot, you can see it below. Looks so close, but after the knee jarring descent, you are finally there. The girl that checked us in knew enough English to be helpful. She showed us where our beds were. The beds in the hostel rooms are mattresses right next to one another so quite tight. There... More

Stayed here the first night of our TMB trek from Chamonix to Courmeyeur with our 8 and 10-year old. Had one of the chalets all to ourselves. Hot showers, excellent food (green salad, fresh bread, egg-loaf and heavenly Beaufort cheese from the pastured cows outside) and clean, comfortable beds. The kids loved it!

We chose the alternative TMB route for the first day and decided to end it earlier than Les Contamines, and Refuge de Miage seemed a very nice option - after a grueling descent from Col de Tricot. We were put in quite a large dormitory - around 12 people on two bunk beds, but the sleep was trouble free. On... More

I stayed here last summer while hiking the tour du Mont Blanc. While most people go straight to Les Contamines from Chamonix or Les Houches, this little detour allowed for a shorter first day. I highly recommend this for the first night. The Refuge de Miage is in a little valley which can only be described as paradise, with snowcapped... More

We got to Miage on a rainy day while hiking the TMB. Because of the rain we didn't get to enjoy the outside seating area which looks very nice. The dorms are simple, a few mattresses one next to the other. The dorm was almost empty (us two, and two more people), but I think it will not feel very... More

The Refuge de Miage is about 6 hours from Les Houches on the TMB if you do the Col de Tricot alternative. However it is anot as remote as it feels and actually has vehicular access. It's a great place to stop for food and drink but also a great place to stay. We reserved a '2 bed room' and... More

This is a lovely place in the middle of nowhere, near Col du Truc (Tour du Mont Blanc). I didn´t slep there, but I stopped there for a nice hot shower and some rest. The restaurant is also very nice, with tables outside and with a superbe view.
