On the second day of the TMB we arrived with the mist rolling in and the bad weather arriving. The staff who greeted us on arrival were friendly enough, and spoke both English and Spanish, but the organisation of the place was truly a disaster. We were shown to our dormitory (which was cold and damp and not very clean)... More

Me and my son stayed there as part of our TMB track. The staff was nice and gave us a room quickly. We then enjoyed a cup of hot drink and a cake. Simple pleasure but very appreciated given the temperature outside and the way there. The Showers were clean and so was the room. We were surprised to find... More

My son and I hiked nearly all day in rain and mud and even some snow. We where thrilled to finally get in to the refuge. The staff were all friendly, helpful and got us to our room quickly. Our room had two bunk beds and so we shared it with a French couple. Our dinner was good, very hearty... More

We found this a dissapointing refuge during our tour du mont blanc. When we arrived it did not look welcome, no terras and a bit messy. Only 2 pic nic tables outside, with limited seats. The showers were closed until 5 o'clock. When they opened there were only 2 showers for man and 2 for woman. With approx. 100 people... More

Bonhomme has a very authentic mountain hut. It's a very large refuge though. We got to Bonhomme on a snowy day. The drying area was not even close to sufficient (my clothes were still damp in the morning). There wasn't any hot water in the showers (it was icy cold), maybe because it's solar heated, or maybe they never have... More

The positives : - beautiful location - very good dinner - confortable beds - free solar heated showers The negatives : - only one female shower working. - showers open only after 5pm - no heating. We had wet cloths and were not able to dry them. - very disapointing breakfast : bread, butter jam and a hot drink; We... More

For the beginning of the season this was the worst Refuge of the whole TMB. Admittedly it is isolated but the day we arrived having trudged thru snow showers and lack of visibility, no attempt had been made to heat the refuge. We were so cold and wet, and the thought of hot shower felt welcoming, but sadly the only... More

As others have mentioned, this hut is quite isolated but we thought was a great stop-over spot if you're planning on doing the alternative route for day#3 of the TMB (col de la croix du bonhomme to refuge de motets and on to rifugio elisabetta) and allows you to skip the long late-day descent into Les Chapieux. The hut was... More

The positives: An absolutely beautiful location! Depending on how you route your TMB, it might actually be your only option, and despite all the negatives you will be glad it's there! My husband and I had actually planned to camp at this refuge (they do allow camping on site, as well as limited use of their facilites), but given a... More

We (3 men) paid 46 Euro (bed, dinner & breakfast) to spend a night in this refuge on the southwestern slopes of the Mont Blanc. The refuge is a popular stop on the Tour Mont Blanc, as it is one of the most isolated refuges on that route, and travelers don't have much of a choice. Therefore, it is advised... More
