Les Volets Bleus (The Blue Shutters) is a pretty white house facing a golf course on a street of larger homes with gated and landscaped grounds. The grounds of LVB are equally lovely but perhaps in a less formal style. Philippe Rousseau, the owner, appears to spend full time tending his flower and vegetable gardens, his fruit trees, his chickens, and preparing fine meals for the guests of his B&B. The sunny afternoon we arrived, Philippe invited us to sit outside and enjoy the grounds--and promptly brought us a large bottle of chilled apple juice from a local orchard.
We stayed in his large "Tropique" room at 83 euros, but his two downstairs rooms at 63 and 75 euros would have been equally satisfactory. Included is one of the finest, most outstanding breakfasts we've had. It included several different kinds of freshly baked breads, hams, and cheeses; egg; smoked trout; egg custard tartes; outstanding vanilla pears; and homemade jams.
