The hotel is situated in a small, quiet village and our first impression was that it didn’t match up to the pictures on their web page. Parking and Wi-Fi is free. It is very much a lived in property with personal papers/books piled on some of the radiators. Rene is a good, articulate, English speaking host and we choose to... More

A lovley one night stay on our way through France to Italy. The village is quiet and there is great off road parking. The bedroom we had was large with a good sized en suite shower room. The owners made us very welcome and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. There is a pool which looked inviting but we didn't... More

My husband and I stay at Chateau Labessiere in August 2014. Our host, Renee, spoke perfect English and could not have been more helpful and informative about our site-seeing plans for the WWI Battlefields. The meals we enjoyed would rival any four/five star dining establishment. The rooms were full of quality antiques. I could go on and on. . .

We traveled to stay with Rene at his Chateau in a two family group with four teens. Everyone had such fun experiencing the hospitality here. Both the food and accommodations were great. Kids had their first four course meal and loved every moment. We were enchanted by the cocktail hour with Rene. Very nice to see that it is still... More

We had a perfect experience at the Chateau. Our objective was to see the WW1 sites around Verdun and the surrounding areas. We were traveling in France without a car, but it became clear that we would need a car in order to see everything we wanted to see. Enter René. I found the Chateau on trip advisor and sent... More

Spacious ,elegant rooms with modern en suites,in peaceful surroundings.safe ,private parking. The dinners are memorable and the hospitality outstanding. Perfect for small groups.

We had such a wonderful time here. It's the perfect place to use as a base to see the battlefields of Verdun, especially because of the lack of good hotels in the city of Verdun itself. Rene has great suggestions for things to see that weren't in any books we saw. The best part about it was the evening ritual.... More

We really loved our stay at Chateau de Labessiere. It is in a fairly typical French village a few miles outside Verdun...it is not the most picturesque location but it is very convenient for the battlefield tour! Our room was rather old fashioned in a slightly shabby chic way with a very modern bathroom...all exceptionally clean. The piece de la... More

We were lucky enough to choose this hotel from which to visit Verdun. M. Eichenauer was a wonderful host, a fount of knowledge about Verdun, welcoming and entertaining. Our room was very comfortable, but the piece de resistance was the food. We started at 7pm with drinks and nibbles, then a 4 course dinner, followed by coffee and liqueurs, all... More

We had a very pleasant stay at the Chateau, although I must say that it photographs better than it looks in person! We drove past it a couple of times because the rather rundown area of town where it's situated doesn't look like the vast expanses of French countryside that I envisioned. The house itself, as others have stated, is... More
