Awesome experience at this chateu, very local & homey vs Chateau de Courcelles which seemed corporate, both great place Great B&B Inn types. Great owner & host. Does need more parking spaces for guests.

We stayed at the Chateau in October 2014 for 2 nights and it was exquisite. Rene and Marie-Jose have lovingly restored this beautiful Chateau. The food is 5 star, and the service is brilliant. It made our stay so very delightful - we felt like kings and queens.

I met a gentlemen in my hometown and when I told him my wife and I were going to Verdun he insisted I stay at the Chateau. Why not? Our first night my wife and I were late getting to Ancemont. We arrived in the sleepy French town and met Rene who was waiting for us. He had us checked... More

The hotel is situated in a small, quiet village and our first impression was that it didn’t match up to the pictures on their web page. Parking and Wi-Fi is free. It is very much a lived in property with personal papers/books piled on some of the radiators. Rene is a good, articulate, English speaking host and we choose to... More

A lovley one night stay on our way through France to Italy. The village is quiet and there is great off road parking. The bedroom we had was large with a good sized en suite shower room. The owners made us very welcome and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. There is a pool which looked inviting but we didn't... More

My husband and I stay at Chateau Labessiere in August 2014. Our host, Renee, spoke perfect English and could not have been more helpful and informative about our site-seeing plans for the WWI Battlefields. The meals we enjoyed would rival any four/five star dining establishment. The rooms were full of quality antiques. I could go on and on. . .

We traveled to stay with Rene at his Chateau in a two family group with four teens. Everyone had such fun experiencing the hospitality here. Both the food and accommodations were great. Kids had their first four course meal and loved every moment. We were enchanted by the cocktail hour with Rene. Very nice to see that it is still... More

We had a perfect experience at the Chateau. Our objective was to see the WW1 sites around Verdun and the surrounding areas. We were traveling in France without a car, but it became clear that we would need a car in order to see everything we wanted to see. Enter René. I found the Chateau on trip advisor and sent... More

We had such a wonderful time here. It's the perfect place to use as a base to see the battlefields of Verdun, especially because of the lack of good hotels in the city of Verdun itself. Rene has great suggestions for things to see that weren't in any books we saw. The best part about it was the evening ritual.... More
