We stayed at Le Vieux Logis in Tremolat for 3 nights. On one of our nights, the hotel's gastronomic restaurant was not open, so we decided to dine at La Metairie -- some 3-5 miles from Tremolat. (Make sure you have GPS to find it in the dark!) From the moment we arrived (the owner, Charles, greeted my wife at... More

I had knots in my stomach as we approached the area where the hotel might be according to the detailed map. The hotel has no address for your Garmin and in fact there are two "Millacs" in the Dordogne. However our fears dissolved as we finally saw the sign and turned up the dirt road. It is about an hours... More

We can only add to the already great reviews. The room was comfortable and clean. The meals were wonderful. Jean Jacques and Charles made our stay warm and friendly. Our vacation was slow and easy so we enjoyed the location tremendously. It was not difficult, however, to get into Bergerac, Les Eyzie-de-Taynac or any of the other fantastic sites. We... More

We were following our sat nav and realised when we found La Metairie that we had no idea where we were - well the answer is nowhere. This charming place isn't near anywhere and that is part of its delight. Total bucolic isolation, surrounded by beautiful countryside, rolling hills and woodland. The only sound at night was the ponies cropping... More

Delightful stay in the beautiful Bergerac region! It's in the middle of nowhere, but that's part of the charm. The small hotel is very well run, quiet, clean, charming, and quaint. The staff is extremely attentive, including the owner Charles. We stayed in the Pimpernel room and were pleased. No a/c so if it's hot beware. The first night was... More

We went to France on our honeymoon for 2 weeks and decided we wanted to explore the Perigord region towards the end of the trip, so we booked La Metairie and we could not have been happier. It was such a breath of fresh air after spending a week in Paris. The staff was extremely friendly, especially the manager. The... More

A middle of nowhere feel, but a good location to visit the surroundings. Our ground floor opened onto the garden - pleasant evening drinks but not so great if it rains. Super service (Swiss style) and an excellent restaurant.

We spent 4 nights in la Metairie with our 4 year old daughter at the beginning of the August and overall had a very good time. The rooms were big enough, rustically decorated but elegant and with some modern amenities such as flat screen TV, modern bathroom, minibar and a safe. However, there was no air-con, they provide you with... More

We had two nights in this hotel and thought that the standard of service was first-rate. Nothing seemed too much trouble and the demi-pension diners were delicious and well-chosen. We appreciated the quiet location and walked from the hotel down to the little village of Muzac on the Dordogne for lunch. All in all this is a seriously comfortable and... More

We just spent three wonderful days in La Metaire in Mauzac. We travelled with our 7 yr old and loved it. Fantastic staff, food, and wonderful rooms! They were beautifully decorated in great style and extremely tidy, clean, and well served. The beds were great and very comfortable. The views and the property are idyllic. They have 2 ponys in...
