Beautiful room decorated in classic country French yellow and blue. The rooms don't have numbers, but rather are named after French flowers. Excellent A/C with a comfy king bed. The grounds were charming, complete with ponies in the adjacent field. Very quiet and very country.

Hotel reception was very polite and friendly upon arrival, however we noticed to air conditioning wasn't working in out room. We were told it would be fixed. Several hours later the problem was not only not fixed but no update, which required a call to reception. It took quite an effort to straighten out, but we did. It appears if... More

This was the second hotel we stayed at during our driving holiday around the Perigord. As most of you who are planning a similar tip can appreciate, these places are priceless. Luxurious, relaxing and an excellent restaurant (with great prices) to boot at the end of the day. It is of course isolated and thus may not be the best... More

We have just returned from a five day visit at this charming, excellently managed small inn in the heart of the Dordogne Valley. Perhaps few travelers who venture off well known paths are elderly - or perhaps they don't write reviews. In research for a three week trip to France, we found few comments from older travelers. A quiet setting,... More

It was one of best hotel I have ever stayed. Beautiful garden, nice room, supreme service, good wine and cognac. As a city guy, it was my first time to see the Milky Way when I had cognac in the garden after the dinner. I was also impressed by an owl which flied over me when I enjoyed the Galaxy...... More

it is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful surrounding. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. We came for two nights and did not want to leave and we stayed another night and then another night. Its a wonderful place to stay in and relax and also spend the day in the area and come back for dinner.

The most important thing for any hotel is to uphold the trust that their customers place in them when placing a reservation. After all, who wants to turn up to learn that they haven't got a room? One night I had a 'confirmed' reservation which I had started making dinner reservations around, the next night it was cancelled. As a... More

Le Métairie is a delightful, welcoming and quiet country hotel with a fine chef and attentive Swiss management, Charles and his assistant Nicole. Two friends and I spent only one night there on a cycling tour in August: we all could have stayed much longer. It was delightful to have a quiet drink in the cosy sitting room, or on... More

This beautiful chateau had quite an otherworldly feel about it and transports you to a forgotten age with old style manners and glamour. The setting is amazing and the surrounding Dordogne area is beautiful.

a visit to the Perigord region should include a stay at this lovely, intimate oasis where you'll find a warm welcome from the manager Charles and his colleague Nicole. They had plenty of good advice for us during our 1 week stay (Eglantine suite), including local markets and regional festivals. The food at Le Metairie was excellent as were some... More
