We stayed in the Colonsay hotel for 4 days in June in the Eilean Olmsa room. This room is compact with limited view but in fact lying on the bed this was actually very pleasant. Beds (twin) were very comfortable and the décor pleasing. The bathroom was nicely fitted out with a decent sized bath and more than adequate over... More

We stayed in the flats because the hotel was full. But we came here every day because they had booked us in for the flat so we got to come here everyday for breakfasts in the restaurant. It was great we came here at nights for the music in the pub which is every friday and we also came here... More

Being the only hotel on the island and with no competition, it may have suffered from complacency but delighted to say, just the opposite. The hotel was most comfortable, spotless, well maintained with a restaurant serving the freshest of seafood. The langoustines were divine. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. All together, a wonderful experience.

Having visited the island many years ago,I was looking forward to visiting again. The hotel had not really changed, but the staff had.Our ensuite was SMALL...it was the width of a shower tray, the room it's self was not a bad size and was comfortable. There was plenty of comfortable sitting areas and the diningroom was pleasant. The food was good but expensive. When looking on... Stayed in the large ardskenish room for 3 nights with view to the harbour. Well furnished and decorated with everything you would want - although there was a slight whiff of damp dog so possibly in need of recarpeting (and tiles in the bathroom wouldn't go amiss). Decent breakfasts with the local honey a real treat. Bit pricey in the... More

Lobster, crab, oysters, organic vegetables and wild honey all from the island itself, the hotel filled with flowers from the famous garden at Colonsay House and a glorious view of the sea from the hotel itself.

We`absolutely loved this gorgeous hotel. Beautifully decorated, good food and lovely garden. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable and the hotel was dog friendly. Pick up from the ferry was nice but it is only a short walk away.

The Colonsay Hotel has the market sewn up. If you want to get someone to cook your dinner here on this inner Hebridean island, this is it. You might there expect them to rest on their laurels, but no. The food in the light, large dining room is good and even better value. I would say the tian of crab... More

we ate there last night to celebrate a birthday. This hotel has had an excellent reputation for good for many years! Both the woman at the other table and I were reduced to digging into her langoustines with the end of her fork. We got bread and not oatcakes with our mackerel pate. We were treated to the same garnish... More

The hotel service started at the airstrip with Ivan collecting us off the Oban flight. Throughout our stay the hotel service was excellent, arranging bike hire, stoking the fires, bar and waiting. Nothing was too much and they all made us feel welcome and at home. The room we had was large (Ardskenish) and wonderfully decorated, nice and clean. We... More
