A great stay on Colonsay with the hotel punching above its weight for such a small island. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms (it was dog friendly) which was cozy although needs a little updating. The staff were welcoming and accomodated us with the dog at every meal (including breakfast) which was unique among the hotels we stayed... More

Refused a table in either the bar or dining room. Both were completely empty. Staff curt to the point of rudeness. Hugely expensive (we stayed for a pint). Tried to pre-book, but didn't answer phone. Was a Monday night. Typically arrogant Scottish nonchalance (from albeit European staff).

The whole hotel is quiet, quaint and cosy. Staff work very hard to make your stay comfortable. Plenty of pleasant areas to sit downstairs, be it outside, in the lounge, or the bar area. A pre-ferry meal service is nice touch before the 8pm sailing. As there are no telephones or televisions in the guest rooms, I thought the wifi... More

A lovely small Scottish country house style hotel with several cosy public rooms and a very nice restaurant. I stayed in Port Lobh single room which has its bathroom quite a bit down the corridor. Colonsay is a lovely island for walking, nature and fresh air. People were enjoying tea on the tables in the garden during the lovely weather... More

A most comfortable hotel, warm and friendly with an excellent staff. The manager ensures that your stay is as you wish. The hotel has an ideal location and the garden is a lovely place to relax. The dining room is bright and spacious with a beautiful view.

The Colonsay hotel is friendly and welcoming on arrival from the ferry. Our room (Cable Bay) was nicely done out and had an enormous wardrobe where you could leave your cases and bags, shoes and clothes. We enjoyed the tea, coffee and hot chocolate offered on a tray in our room while looking at the view down to the harbour.... More

We stayed in the Colonsay hotel for 4 days in June in the Eilean Olmsa room. This room is compact with limited view but in fact lying on the bed this was actually very pleasant. Beds (twin) were very comfortable and the décor pleasing. The bathroom was nicely fitted out with a decent sized bath and more than adequate over... More

We stayed in the flats because the hotel was full. But we came here every day because they had booked us in for the flat so we got to come here everyday for breakfasts in the restaurant. It was great we came here at nights for the music in the pub which is every friday and we also came here... More

Being the only hotel on the island and with no competition, it may have suffered from complacency but delighted to say, just the opposite. The hotel was most comfortable, spotless, well maintained with a restaurant serving the freshest of seafood. The langoustines were divine. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. All together, a wonderful experience.

Having visited the island many years ago,I was looking forward to visiting again. The hotel had not really changed, but the staff had.Our ensuite was SMALL...it was the width of a shower tray, the room it's self was not a bad size and was comfortable. There was plenty of comfortable sitting areas and the diningroom was pleasant. The food was good but expensive. When looking on...
