We stayed for a couple of nights in April 2006. We had been before, but it had changed hands recently and had been thoroughly refurbished, and the refurbishment was a huge improvement. The “exceptional” room we booked was very ordinary - the room was small, the furniture was basic and there were no facilities like TV, radio or CD player.
