Colonsay is somewhere to go to get away from it all... and 'The Colonsay' is pretty well the only hotel on this lovely island. But there would be no better choice! The rooms and décor are fresh, clean and modern with the most comfortable beds & line. Food was lovely and generous. Perhaps the WiFi could be powered up a... More

Stayed here recently for three nights as part of a birdwatching trip. The Hotel was very nice and the rooms large and comfortable with all the usual amenities, except no TV in the bedroom, which didn't really matter anyway. Food was excellent especially the local seafood. Ideally situated for the few shops, amenities and ferry terminal. Well recommended.

My husband had stayed here before we met, so he was keen to bring me back. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, and there always seems to be quite a bit going on (the bar is basically the island's pub, too). Our room was comfy, with good views down to the little pier and beyond, and the food was delicious... More

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in April 2014. I stayed here mostly for its location on the island as I didn't have transport (near the ferry and shops) and this was why I paid the £78 per night, rather than be in a more economical B&B miles away from facilities. I was travelling on my own, so... More

The Colonsay is the perfect base from which to explore a beautiful island. The hotel is very well managed by Irena and Ivan, who gave us a warm welcome on our arrival. It is tastefully decorated, with lots of lounge space to relax in during inclement weather. The rooms are comfortable and the food is excellent, making good use of... More

During my recent stay, on the beautiful island of Colonsay, My husband booked a meal at the Colonsay hotel, we were greeted by very pleasant staff and then ate in the restaurant. I had spicy parsnip soup that was outstanding and my husband had a rather interesting hot smoked salmon dish, which he loved, but I have to say, the... More

The reviews on this page are mixed, that reflects our view. The hotel is charming, we were very warmly welcomed. Decor is tasteful and the whole place has a relaxed atmosphere in keeping with this small, beautiful island. We had one of the more recently renovated rooms, and it was fine. We've paid the same amount elsewhere for less. The... More

Had a wonderful stay at The Colonsay whilst attending the Colonsay Folk Festival, Mid Sept. A just gorgeous hotel with lovely contemporary colours and charming features (eg log fire / painted wood panelling). The staff were absolutely fantastic - so friendly, accommodating and efficient. Colonsay itself is a magical place - beautiful, peaceful and a great escape from "real life"... More

"The Colonsay" is unique. It is the only hotel on the island and where that might make most folk complacent - not here. Nothing is too much trouble for the business or pleasure guests at The Colonsay. The hotel is well maintained - the rooms have been beautifully renovated and modernised and the public areas are clean modern but with... More
