This is a perfect little getaway place hidden in the hills. It is very quiet and laid back. This is not a big resort, its perfect if you want to catchup on some rest and relaxation at a unique place that is not a chain. The food is amazing. Everything is homemade and delicious. They serve breakfast and dinner. You're... More

My husband and I booked the owner's suite after seeing the advertisement for Escondida on Texas Country Reporter. I completely agree with the reviewers who said this place wasn't worth the money. For an astronomical price of $795 per night, we were beyond disappointed to walk into a filthy suite that clearly had not been vacuumed in who knows how... More

Thank you for your recent visit at Escondida Resort & Spa. I apologize for the experience you had at our property. I very shocked to read about your experience on the property, because if this would of been brought to my attention, I would of personally addressed the issues at hand. We take a lot of pride in our property... More

My husband surprised me with a weekend stay in the Owners Suite at Escondida. It was a real treat! Food was delicious! All of the posts concerning the "laid back" atmosphere are correct. We had massages at the spa and enjoyed the grounds. We took day trips into Medina & Bandera and toured the area. One evening, after dinner, we... More

I agree with the poster who said the property is more akin to a bed and breakfast than a true resort. Nonetheless, my husband and I enjoyed the trip. We felt like we had the property to ourselves (even though there were other guests) which was really, really nice. We enjoyed having pool and jacuzzi to ourselves, but also meeting... More

Stayed for a couple of days with the wife and had a fine time. Here are the caveats. It's a lovely property with nice but average rooms. There is no phone service but the internet is adequate. Service is what you'd expect at a B&B verses a "Resort." Bring your own drinks, snacks, etc. The meals are one plate of... More

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon here and it was perfect! Pam and Dawn took great care of us, as well as the other guests. It really shows they love what they do and want you to enjoy your stay. The food was an unexpected surprise as well. Dawn is an amazing cook. They are vegan... More

Loved this treasure; really felt rested after the weekend. The building is reminiscent of San Miguel architecture. There's a pretty little dammed up creek, pool, hot tub and very good food (breakfast & dinner are included). Nice hike on the property, clean room.

I treated myself and two daughters to a girls' weekend at Escondida Resort. The property is beautiful and the main area is very well appointed and comfortable. Our room was over the top beautiful with the colorful tiles and furniture. The main meeting and dining area felt like being in a private home. Dawn and Pam are so friendly and... More

I fell in LOVE with Escondida from the moment we entered the gate to the property! The beautiful grounds and surroundings were absolutely breathtaking. The accommodations were comfortable and so inviting. The overstuffed, fluffy comfortable chairs right next to the stone fireplace had my name written all over them! As I sat in my robe and pj's and read, I... More
