We liked the place although it was under the expectations we had in view of other opinions and the information provided by the Hotel. Too much stairs if your travel with small kids. The Jacuzzi is just a well equipped tube but not really a Jacuzzi. Walking distance to nice places for dinning and also to the El Escorial site.

I booked directly through the hotel website and received prompt replies to my reservation and other questions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Ignacio the owner. You could not ask for a more sincere and welcoming host, treating us almost as one of his family. He gave us maps with directions to recommended restaurants and also how to get... More

We recently stayed at Posada Don Jaime and had a wonderful stay. We were there on a weekday in February, so not crowded. Our room was clean and wonderful. The location is convenient and walking distance from what you want to see. Ignacio is a great host. He takes time to help with your visit plans and all recommendations. He... More

Our trip to San Lorenzo El Escorial was planned for 2013 but we did not visit until November 2014. One of the reasons was the Hotel Posada Don Jaime was booked for the dates we wanted in 2013 so our trip didn't pan out. We stayed a few nights in an attic room with Jacuzzi bath and lounge area. There... More

I would recommend staying in this hotel even if you are planning a few days in Madrid as the welcome is so warm, the town is so interesting and the transport links to Madrid are excellent. Ignacio is a warm, humourous, enthusiastic and gentle host who goes out of his way to provide advice and assistance, without being obtrusive. He... More

It is not that often in one's travels that you encounter a host of Ignacio's calibre. A consummate professional in every sense with a great sense of humour to boot. It was smiles from the moment of arrival to our departure send off. Information abounded on what to see and where to eat and as we followed it to the... More

It was a delightful place to stay in, with a warm and helpful host, and beautiful decor. The location was excellent: near the monastery, shops and restaurants, but out the way of traffic on this side street. I was there with my daughter and her family and we all felt very welcome and well cared for.

This hotel is brilliantly situated for visiting the Palace (5-10min walk down the hill) and also the other attractions (eg Valley of the Fallen). Lovely tapas bars just 2 min walk away. The room was cleverly laid out with oodles of storage space of all types including a walk-in wardrobe which itself had chest of drawers that also contained a... More
