If you are visiting El Escorial the the Posada Don Jamie is very well situated. The hotel is quite small but the bedrooms are clean and well furnished, breakfast was good and the service was excellent. The area has very few parking spaces so it would be wise to use the hotel's garage but that has only 5 or 6... More

El Escorial has a limited, yet varied, offer of hotel and we've stayed in several. The appeal of this hotel is that it is not a generic business hotel; it is a stately home that has been beautifully refurbished. We stayed in room 7 on the top floor with a beautiful sloping ceiling. The room is spacious, beautifully decorated, and... More

Well managed hotel that was a perfect base for our family's visit to (the Royal Site of San Lorenzo de) El Escorial and the highly recommended Valle de los Caídos. The proprietor graciously welcomed us despite a late arrival and made sure we had all the information we needed to maximize our visit to the sites. The optional breakfast prepared... More

A lovely hotel, a lovely room and a lovely host. Walking distance to El Escorial. We stayed in the top floor in one of the suites. The room is like staying in a ski chalet, with the angled ceiling and wood covered walls and ceiling. The bed is king-sized and very comfy. Bathroom is spacious and we took advantage of... More

We had a lovely room with a jacuzzi and a spa shower, with two windows and a closed ‘balcony’ (mirador) which looks like a castle from outside. The room was extremely clean with very fine linen, almost reminiscent of a royal bedroom. It’s a nice theme considering that just down the road there is a royal palace and the burial... More

We liked the place although it was under the expectations we had in view of other opinions and the information provided by the Hotel. Too much stairs if your travel with small kids. The Jacuzzi is just a well equipped tube but not really a Jacuzzi. Walking distance to nice places for dinning and also to the El Escorial site.

I booked directly through the hotel website and received prompt replies to my reservation and other questions. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Ignacio the owner. You could not ask for a more sincere and welcoming host, treating us almost as one of his family. He gave us maps with directions to recommended restaurants and also how to get... More

We recently stayed at Posada Don Jaime and had a wonderful stay. We were there on a weekday in February, so not crowded. Our room was clean and wonderful. The location is convenient and walking distance from what you want to see. Ignacio is a great host. He takes time to help with your visit plans and all recommendations. He... More

Our trip to San Lorenzo El Escorial was planned for 2013 but we did not visit until November 2014. One of the reasons was the Hotel Posada Don Jaime was booked for the dates we wanted in 2013 so our trip didn't pan out. We stayed a few nights in an attic room with Jacuzzi bath and lounge area. There... More
