Our first night of a two-week trip round Castilla & Leon, Asturias and Bilbao. Reason? To visit the Escorial. The hotel is slap-bang in the centre of town, and you can see the top half of the Escorial from the bedroom window. Room was lovely: big, comfortable bed, good bathroom, great shower. The entire hotel has been modernised on the... More

Right on the main square this is in the heart of Escorial, a 6-10 minute walk from the bus station (1 hour on the 661 or 664 bus from Moncloa in Madrid). Surrounded by all of the main tourist attractions, bars, cafes and restaurants, the perfect place to stay. We had a Superior room which was overlooking the main square,... More

This friendly little hotel sits in the heart of El Escorial, close to all the main attractions, restaurants and bars. Each room has its own, very original, name and design, with shuttered windows that throw open over the square, though you may want to keep them closed at night to keen down any street noise. We didn't dine here (perhaps... More

Stayed in De Martin for one night on our way back from San Sebastian to Madrid. It is a very small hotel with few rooms. We stayed in a bigger room but which is still quite small. There is no staff at the reception from 11pm to 8:30am. Staff does not speak English but is eager to help. There was... More

I was given a inside room facing onto the smokers area on the second floor. When it came to the evening meal one of the members of staff was very rude all because my self & my work partner ordered quite a bit of food & the stake that i had ordered even tho I'd ask it to be well... More

We stayed in this hotel at the hight of Las Fiestas mid August. We found the hotel in a great position in the town. Although only 11 rooms, they were all different all had a different theme. Very elegantly decorated. You have a choice of three different types of room obviously different prices. Our room was on the top floor... More

I stayed here for a wedding, all the rooms have a theme, mine was mystery, but more deep sea, in my opinion. Clean, good beds, a fantastic, well-equipped bathroom. The breakfast is basic, on request delightful melons and fresh orange juice is served. The hotel is located aside the town hall and one of the many little squares of the... More

Fantastic location overlooking the main square, wonderfully & individually designed rooms with all you need for a truly comfortable overnight stay, and great value for money. There are only two negatives: the meagre breakfast (small orange juice, coffee and croissant OR toast), which are on a par with something you'd pay 3 euros for in any local café rather than... More
