My stay was with a birdwatching group of ten people, one Spanish, four American and the rest British. We were all of the opinion that it was one of the friendliest places we have ever stayed at. The meals were simply outstanding, and each came with an explanation of the dishes, what the ingredients were and how they were cooked.... More

I visited this family run hotel on a bird watching tour. It is set in beautiful scenery, and had been lovingly restored by the owners in typical comfortable Spanish fashion. We were greeted by the owners who extended great hospitality. It was so very quiet and peaceful, and an ideal base to explore Extremadura. The rooms were clean and comfortable with... More

We stayed here in the middle of October when the hotel was very quiet and the weather mixed but generally pleasantly warm. Our hosts Juan Pedro and Belen were delightful and helpful, Juan Pedro giving us many details of interesting places to visit for birding and Belen providing us with good quality regional food. (Decent meals could also be obtained... More

We have just returned from a week at this beautiful rural hotel. It is set right in the middle of the countryside with a large garden full of birds. We went for a birdwatching holiday and were not disappointed. Our room was at the top of the tower [54 steps up!] but the views were spectacular. I got some lovely... More

This is a delightful, charming historical hotel set away against a hill in Extremadura. The hotel is expertly managed and cared for by a very hospitable, charming couple who provide a very high standard of cuisine, personal availability and room quality. For wildlife enthusiasts there is a summer garden resident nightingale, nearby hoopoes and woodchat shrikes; also a useful cross... More

We were here for five nights on a bird-watching tour, and it was a wonderful experience. The en suite room, at the top of the tower, took a bit of stamina to get to, but was lovely, clean and comfortable. Juan Pedro and Belen were delightful hosts: apart from taking the trouble to learn all our names, he took great... More

A lovely building set in farmland with all the sounds of nature without traffic noise. The room was clean and the en suite very well appointed. Te breakfast (included) was pretty poor and although the evening meal was made with love (and an emphasis was made on local recipes/customs) it was the price of an excellent restaurant meal in Trujillo

We stayed for two nights as part of a bird watching tour. The hosts Juan Pedro and Belen could not have been more welcoming to an old Spanish building that has been beautfully restored as both their home and an hotel. The rooms are large, have lovely views and are well fitted with traditional furniture. The setting is wonderful and... More

We stayed at Vina las Torres in November 2014 with a small group of birdwatchers. This is such a homely welcoming place just 10km south of Trujillo. Open fire in the lounge welcomed us back each night and superb local freshly cooked dinners with very substantial helpings. We had a wide choice of continental breakfast including cold meats and cheese... More
