We stayed at the Grecotel Cape Sounio from 7-16th July this year and it was a truly brilliant experience. We are normally on the move in holiday time travelling from country to country but decided to leave the car behind and have a relaxing holiday. We were a little apprehensive staying in one place without a car. We need not... More

The views of the temple of Poseidon from just about anywhere on the property are spectacular, even in the evening as it is lit up at night. We attended a wedding that was spectacular handled by the staff. The service from the waitress Maria on the veranda was exceptional. Remembering our names throughout our stay. Pool and beach were both... More

How beautiful is this hotel! An hour out of Athens and you think you are on one if the Greek islands or Peloponnesus. The water is crystal clear and the God of Poseidon is watching over you. This hotel is nestled between the landscape and designed so the landscape is not interrupted. The main building complements the ruins of the... More

Was torn between this hotel and the other one at Sounio, Aegeon Beech, so glad we plumped for this one. Despite the reviews, no comparison in our minds if looking for a bit of a spoil near Athens after doing all the sites. Easy to get to by bus from centre of Athens. Staff are so attentive and helpful. Big... More

Stayed for a weekend with my cousin and my goddaughter for a relaxing break. We stayed in a family bungalow (no. 611) which comprises a large bedroom, a proper bathroom with two sinks and a bathtub and a sitting room with two sofa beds. It's 40sqm so very comfortable. It has a very large veranda with a view of trees,... More

I have stayed in the best hotels around Attiki and I can say that Grecotel Cape Sounion is definitely a must visit. The location is stunning, the hotel architecture is really beautiful and complements the ancient temple. All the bungalows are drowning in beautiful greenery with wonderful sea and temple views. The rooms are beautifully designed and I don't mean... More

Poseidon is constantly bathing us in his crystal waters, sun caresses our eyelids and breeze touches gently our skin; it would be difficult for a hotel to destroy this ecstasy. Forgetting the exorbitant prices, all beings who respect themselves should be granted the opportunity to scan what feels like being a guest in the realm of the ultimate peninsula, as... More

As the name of the area "Sounio" (which means Dream) this hotel is a dream! The staff, the architecture, the rooms, the beach, the view, it's all beyond amazing. I went for my 2nd honeymoon (5 years marriage anniversary) and I was delighted. I was also lucky to get the full moon on the exact same date as my anniversary... More

We stayed for 3 nights for a business conference. The main building is stunning and you look across the bay to the Temple of Poseidon an easy walk from the hotel. Rooms, very well appointed, are like individual bungalows set in the hillside in lovely gardens, some have their own pool. There is a lovely large pool with bar and... More

Cape Sounio definitely stands up to its reputation as part of the small luxury hotels of the world. DECOR: Initially I was concerned looking at the website that the hotel might not live up to the highly produced photographs but I am delighted to say that this is exactly what the resort looks like (minus the models!). Cape Sounio I... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of the most famous archaeological sites of Greece is the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, south-east of Athens. The Grecotel Cape Sounio literally clings to the side of a pine-clad hillside with panoramic views over this ancient monument. Behind the hotel is the Sounio National Park and below the hotel are two bays (one sandy and the other is shingle) which are approached via tunnels under the road (ancient river path). The buildings are set in an amphitheatre shape allowing exhilarating views of the Temple of Poseidon and the sea from most guestrooms and public areas. ... more   less
