We got married at Cape Sounio in June and had the most amazing wedding I could have dreamed off! During our three-day wedding, we stayed at one of the Royal Hill Villas, an impeccable villa with beautiful garden and amazing 36m2 (~380sq.ft) pool and a view of the Temple of Poseidon! The grounds are beautiful and the views of the... More

Our family of 5 stayed at the Grecotel Sounio this past June. We were leaving on a cruise the next day from Lavrio and did not want to deal with Athens traffic in the morning. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night. The service was excellent, from the checking in process, the little ride to our room, the huge apartment... More

Overall great hotel. Staff trying very hard, splendid breakfast, beautiful sea view rooms. Family rooms average and beach crowded in peak. Sauna open, but in dilapidated, empty building. Probably this will be fixed soon, as it did not fit with the grand 5- star feeling of the common areas. Hotel has a very relaxed feel.

The staff were the highlight of this hotel - incredibly friendly and helpful while maintaining impeccable service. Comfortable rooms, lovely grounds, great views of the bay and the Temple of Poseidon. The food at the buffet breakfast and evening buffet was of the highest standards - delicious and beautifully presented. The only negatives were the food at the beach bar... More

We came here on holiday having visited once before on business. We stayed for 11 days and had a wonderful holiday. The bungalow 225 with plunge pool had an excellent view of the Temple of Poseidon and the sea. The service all round was excellent with good facilities such as the pools and spa. Whenever we had a small problem... More

The view is spectacular. The hotel staff are excellent and very helpful. The beach and pool are good. The rooms are good. The food offered is less than expected from a SLH hotel. I would expect better quality food and more activities for the price paid.

My two friends and I from university stayed at this hotel in June. We wanted a last-minute get away from Athens for a few days. Wow....we got it....beautiful grounds, beautiful room, nice beach, lovely pool, great food and service. Little touches like small desert samples and wine in the room upon arrival...staff totally willing to whisk us around. Attentive and... More

We stayed at the Grecotel Cape Sounio from 7-16th July this year and it was a truly brilliant experience. We are normally on the move in holiday time travelling from country to country but decided to leave the car behind and have a relaxing holiday. We were a little apprehensive staying in one place without a car. We need not... More

The views of the temple of Poseidon from just about anywhere on the property are spectacular, even in the evening as it is lit up at night. We attended a wedding that was spectacular handled by the staff. The service from the waitress Maria on the veranda was exceptional. Remembering our names throughout our stay. Pool and beach were both... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of the most famous archaeological sites of Greece is the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, south-east of Athens. The Grecotel Cape Sounio literally clings to the side of a pine-clad hillside with panoramic views over this ancient monument. Behind the hotel is the Sounio National Park and below the hotel are two bays (one sandy and the other is shingle) which are approached via tunnels under the road (ancient river path). The buildings are set in an amphitheatre shape allowing exhilarating views of the Temple of Poseidon and the sea from most guestrooms and public areas. ... more   less
