I am unsure as to exactly what the other reviewers are speaking to in terms of the hotel being so outdated. Upon our arrival the hotel seemed updated and beautiful. Our room seemed new in terms of furniture, electronics, bedding, air-conditioning, tiling, flooring, and doors. Everything was right on point and seemed to me to be up to 4 star... More

Spent the night lying awake until 1:30am from the noise from an outdoor bar in the adjacent parking lot. If your in good shape you can cross the causeway onto the island. We hired a boat for $5.00 US to take us on a tour and he dropped us off at the hotel which was nice. Breakfast was OK in... More

The hotel is basic. The public area are nice with good view to the lake. The rooms are poor with broken facilities the location is perfect. I don't understand the owner with small investment they can upgrade the hotel.

I stayed for 2 nights at the Mayan International, whilst passing through as part of a group. As we were doing sightseeing, we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel, but it was quite nice. Quite an easy walk to the shops, and over the causeway to good restaurants in Flores. The rooms are nicely set up, and... More

I stayed here for 2 nights last week. We managed to have a single cold shower in our room before the water ran out. Complained in the morning, and left them to sort it during the day. Came back in the evening to find the pipe outside had been dug up and cut in half but not reattached. Went to... More

TIP: This hotel is in a heavy mosquito area, and many of the common areas are open. Make sure you bring repellent. Wonderful hotel with a lot of Guatemalan touches. We had the BEST Air conditioning in our room! It was nice and cold. The bathrooms were clean, with a nice shower. We had a private balcony with a nice... More

This hotel is located just across the causeway from Flores next to the main road. It is right beside the lake with excellent views. The rooms are really good and have recently been renovated although there was no overhead light in my room or fan, but there was an AC that worked ok. The shower had good hot water and... More

I have been traveling to Peten for over 20 years. I am one of those customers that can say this hotel has come a long way. I really enjoy the nice breeze coming from the lake, the rooms are nice, great parking and the staff does a good job at spoiling you. I guess this is home.

Pros - 1. Lovely panoramic views across the lake and Flores. 2. Very friendly staff. 3. Lovely authentic wooden lodge style rooms, very romantic in the evening. 4. Beautiful small swimming pool looking onto the lake. Cons - 1. Expensive food and drinks. 2. Not located in Flores but across the lake (20 mins walk). FYI - the cicadas are... More

This hotel was not as good as the others we stayed at in Guatemala-but was still not that bad for the country, and compared to some of the conditions we saw people living in, would be considered luxury to them. The rooms were basic, and in need of updating-but to be air to the hotel a renovation plan was underway.... More
