Stayed one night at this throwback motel on old Route 66. Large room, funky bathroom, needs some work but spotless sheets and comfy. It was great fun to stay in and felt like it was quite a find. Lots less expensive than the chains, and enjoyed supporting the small business. Yes, the carpets needed cleaning and the beds needed to... More

I stayed at the Cactus inn in 2012 and loved it but stayed again in Sept 2014 and it was awful. To say the room was filthy is an understatement. It looked like the floors had not been cleaned in years and you couldn't pay me to take a shower in that tub. We had driven 16 hours that day... More

Our plan is to stay in as many Rt 66 motels as possible and here we are. Just as one would imagine the days gone by, this motel fits the bill! It is clean, tidy- the rooms are pleasantly roomy and comfortable. It is so very peaceful - the birds are chirping and a gentle breeze is blowing. We walked... More

Rooms were clean and comfortable. With no reservations, we stopped in after being a little road weary from traveling Route 66 and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice desk clerk and for less than $50 for the night, this was an exceptional motel. With that being said, the water pressure was a little low, but it still got the job done.... More

Spotlessly clean. Nice tile floor and western accents throughout the room. Comfortable bed and soft sheets! We actually preferred this to the four star resort we just came from in Nashville. Much more personality. Just a nice classic motel well maintained by friendly people.

A nice family run motel. You couldn't say its overly trendy, but it does the job. everything you need in a accessible clean room. The local amenities are somewhat lacking though. We arrived on a Monday night, so the only restaurant was closed. We had to go to a gas station for food. Also note, if you'd like a beer,... More

Another vintage Route 66 motel, but kept up, not rundown, and clean. The Cactus is pretty basic, no phone, ice, clock, or breakfast, but it did have a microwave/refrigerator and in-room coffee. A group of drunk Mexicans had the room next to ours, and while they never got rowdy, they stayed out in the parking lot drinking until quite late.... More

This is a wonderful little motel. I would recommend this place to anyone! Very clean and very nice people. I will stay again. There was nothing wrong with this place. Towels were wonderful as well. You can tell they take care of their facility. Very happy customer.

It's not fancy, but it was comfortable enough - TV, WiFi, A/C, queen size beds (one or two). Clean, easy to find (on old Rte. 66), and has been around since 1957. Small, but nice bathroom. The only substantial place to eat nearby (a steakhouse) is closed on Sunday and Monday, but we were tipped off to a place called... More

If your driving West on I 40 and can't make it to Amarillo then stop here for a pleasant nights stay. One nights stay will cost you about $40.00, but forget about a wakeup call no phone in the room I had, the only drawback is McLean itself there is hardly any place to have breakfast but Amarillo is only...
