Another vintage Route 66 motel, but kept up, not rundown, and clean. The Cactus is pretty basic, no phone, ice, clock, or breakfast, but it did have a microwave/refrigerator and in-room coffee. A group of drunk Mexicans had the room next to ours, and while they never got rowdy, they stayed out in the parking lot drinking until quite late.... More

This is a wonderful little motel. I would recommend this place to anyone! Very clean and very nice people. I will stay again. There was nothing wrong with this place. Towels were wonderful as well. You can tell they take care of their facility. Very happy customer.

It's not fancy, but it was comfortable enough - TV, WiFi, A/C, queen size beds (one or two). Clean, easy to find (on old Rte. 66), and has been around since 1957. Small, but nice bathroom. The only substantial place to eat nearby (a steakhouse) is closed on Sunday and Monday, but we were tipped off to a place called... More

If your driving West on I 40 and can't make it to Amarillo then stop here for a pleasant nights stay. One nights stay will cost you about $40.00, but forget about a wakeup call no phone in the room I had, the only drawback is McLean itself there is hardly any place to have breakfast but Amarillo is only... We just stayed at the Cactus Inn and it was just Ok. Clean. This is a vintage Route 66 motel that is starting to need a little help. But if you need a place to put your head and don't expect luxury this is just fine. In our room the bathroom tiles were falling off behind the door. They did... More

After traveling all day we ended up in a place where there were no hotels/motels to be found. We came upon the Cactus Inn and were so surprised by what we found. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff was very gracious and the food at the Red River Steakhouse next door was great. My only concern was that... More

While driving cross country we discovered the Cactus Inn on the Internet. Made a phone call to check it out and decided it was worth a try. Clean, comfortable and homey. Doesn't compare to the big chain hotels, but it had real personality. Staff extremely nice. Would stay again.

We needed a place to stay that was close to Hedley Tx. Both very small town's in Texas. What a nice surprice when we ran into the Cactus Inn in McClean Texas. The room that we had was very clean, with all that we needed for the night. Very quiet, with a steakhouse behind the hotel very helpful for us,... More

The "Here It Is" Route 66 map series (Ghost Town Press) included a drawing of the old Cactus Inn Motel sign, with its distinctive giant Saguaro, and so when we drove through McLean with a mind to seeing the restored 1930s Phillips 66 station there, we stumbled on this neat old place and decided to stay the night. Our visit... More

If you want luxury accomodations, this is not the place. If you want a faux Route 66 expericence with modern accomodations, this is not the place. If you want the genuine thing, this is it. The Cactus Inn will transport you back in time to the heyday of Route 66.. It is a classic motor court style motel. You pull... More
