I am a retired firefighter for the City of McAllen. I retired about 17 years ago. I wanted to see what has changed. A lot has changed. The hotel I stayed (Best Western) was not there before. It is located in a very good location. Easy to get to and from. I parked right outside my door. There were a... More

Even though an older property it is well maintained and the rooms are nice. Easy to get any were in the area. Close to good restaurants. There is also a mall close by which I use since my one day trip turned into three days.

The staff was cordial. The employees helpful, when there was a small problem. The room was clean and large. My only complaint was the breakfast. Not everybody eats jalapenos with their eggs and potatoes. We had to go to a restaurant for breakfast. I was impressed with the cleaning staff and the helpfulness with the maintenance staff.

Hotel is in a good location with easy access to local attractions. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was pretty good. I appreciated the eggs/meat as I need to avoid carbs that seem to dominate many hotel breakfasts. The eggs were different styles each day.

The bed was super comfortable! I love that the morning breakfast wasn't your typical hotel food, waffles and egg, but chorizo too. You really don't get that alot. The place was very clean and I was satisfied.

We had an enjoyable stay and heard more English spoken in our home in Laredo. Apparently the hotel was full of Mexicans who were there to shop. The guests saw no reason to wait in line for what they wanted at the breakfast. Not the hotel's fault. They just barged ahead. Everything about the hotel was good with the possible... More

Breakfast needs big improvements, beans were waterly, more liquid than beans, potatoes were cut into big cube size and were blend, orange juice and coffee were good, oranges were not included as part o breakfast fruit

Good service, substantial breakfast, comfortable rooms. Hotel was our "base camp: while birding the area (east Brownesville to west Mission). Excellent WiFi, good parking. Good restaurants within walking distance; free airport shuttle

Everytime we go to Mcallen we stay at this hotel. It is pretty good;the room is clean, has a perfect size (not big, not small), the beds are great and the breakfast is excellent (is a buffet). Great for any kind of trip.

A large spacious king suite with nice breakfast and free wifi - and all at a reasonable price point. The grounds are well kept and the breakfast area was very nice. I only wish they'd have offered an egg dish that didn't contain meat. Since sausage was already available, to include meat in the eggs was unnecessary. Other than this... More
