We were traveling through with our dog. It was pet friendly and one of the most affordable to check out marfa for a 1 night stay. It was older, but clean and comfortable which was great. But my biggest complaint was how thin the walls were. It's a motel, so the door faces the outside. I get that. But I... More

I didn't expect much since all the properties in Marfa are overpriced, but this room did NOT have these things that are usually provided by other motels: tissues, hangers, hair dryer, coffee maker, breakfast, and no smoke detector - is that even legal?. It did have a microwave [we didn't need to use it] and a small refrigerator that leaked... More

I have to admit I was pretty skeptical after reading the reviews, but my husband and I stayed here two nights ago because everything else was booked out and really expensive in Marfa. The hotel is under new management as of Tuesday. Cameron and his wife Ana are really trying hard to turn the place around and are really nice.... More

Under badly needed construction. Construction materials left in room. Cleaning staff did not provide daily cleaning service. Front desk staff not available for assistance. Would not recommend this hotel.

I have stayed here several times while traveling cross country by motorcycle. It is one of the few places to find a room in Marfa and it is a quick driving distance to the Marfa lights. Sometimes the stays are nice, and at other times, the room needs some attention. So ... it is often the "luck of the draw".

The sheets where dirty and the owner after 30 minutes of knocking and ringing the door finally answered and would not replace the sheets. The bathroom is need of repair and filthy. My brother's room was in the same sorry state of dirty sheets and dirty bathroom. There was a ring around the tub and the facets had not seen... More

Last resort for the days needed. Paid $200 w/tax for two nights (big time rip off). No discounts (was told they did not jack up the prices so they did not offer discounts).!!!??? Room was dirty (don't think the floor had ever been cleaned), room in process of being renovated with new wash stand in box sitting in the room.... More

The Riata is reasonably priced and walking distance from the galleries, bars and restaurants of Marfa. We were told (although not by the landlady) that the lights were visible from the car park and are pretty sure we could make them out! A pretty good bet for Marfa, which is definitely worth visiting.

Paid $77 plus tax for a room with broken tub parts, broken vanity, no coffee maker, no available ice, no hair dryer, an air conditioner that sounded like a tractor. There was a huge cardboard box in one corner of our room. Only one chair for two guests. Very disappointing.

Not much choice for lodging in Marfa. Everywhere else was booked. Next time I would drive to another town. Paid $100 including tax. No discounts. Room was dirty. Toilet seat broken. No coffee pot or hair dryer. Chipped paint on ceiling with area of black mold noted. Front desk staff was friendly but I would not return for another stay.
