First I'd like to say this hotel was very nice, clean, and put together very well. I liked the location and the quietness, but if you would like to ask questions about the hotel or town, ask Fred or anyone else, except Krissy. I think she was the manager. Every time i asked a question, it seemed as if she... more

I appreciate what this motel is trying to be but unfortunately it fails. The exterior is stylish but the room interiors are only adequate ( minimalism done on the cheap). Our room had wads of hair on the shower wall, bathroom floor and counter and the rest of the floor looked as if it hadn't seen a broom or vacuum... more

Loved it! This Hotel is amazing in so many ways. The landscaping, property, rooms are truly special and unique. The staff - from front desk to housekeeping - make you feel welcome and appreciated. The breakfast, which they serve on the weekends, is perfect. Fresh muffins, granola, yogurt, berries, coffee - what more do you need - especially in the... more

Thunderbird Hotel is great in concept, but not special in reality. And it definitely is not a 5-star hotel as advertised. The room is a box shaped and sparse, and the renovations feel like they were done on the cheap. We stayed 2 nights, and the wastebasket in the bathroom was not emptied. I liked the brand of the amenities,... more

I am surprised by the negative reviews. I found the hotel to be a unique experience that was definitely enjoyable. You are not paying for an average, everyday hotel experience when you stay at the Thunderbird. The Holiday Inn it is not. The rooms are very minimalistic and simple in design. I expected this and they did not dissappoint. I... more

We drove past the hotel when we arrived in Marfa - would never have recognized it from the website pictures. We went to check in and I think the attendant said hello but nothing more unless we asked questions. Not a "good afternoon, welcome, enjoy your stay". She did say she would be closing early (6:00 - 6:30)so if we needed... more

We stayed in this overpriced hotel in the spring. Uncomfortable & plain rooms with hard-as-rock beds & no heat. I've stayed in nicer hotels in Berlin & Prague for a lot cheaper!! This is priced too high for what is offered. Will not be back. more

Our recent trip to the Thunderbird was very enjoyable. The style of the establishment is casually classy, retro and fitting of the surrounding eclectic Marfa community. The staff was accommodating and friendly. We were able to find out what was available locally and in the region for entertainment, dining, sight seeing, etc. The hotel was within a reasonable walking distance... more
