Where do I begin. This place exceeded my every expectation from the majestic location and views to fresh spring fed pool and hot spring hot tub and views to quaint cozy casita house. We stayed in the El Presidente, my boyfriend had to drag me away when it was time to leave. We meet some amazing diverse cool people in... More

Chinati Hot Springs is one of my favorite places to "get away" from the "big city" life in Alpine. The drive down there, alone, is a nice get away in itself! I absolutely love to camp there, but do enjoy staying in the rooms. They are always so clean and cozy. In the colder months, I enjoy the outdoor hot... More

Ain't nothin beating this. The ladies were wonderful hosts to a weary traveler. Don't go there looking for what society calls luxury. Tons of birds. Lots of solitude. What you're gonna get is actual luxury. Hope to return soon.

Our trip was during a cold snap, so outdoor pool was not used. No telephone, cell service, TV, or wifi here, so be prepared to go totally off the grid and get back to nature or read a book. Community kitchen was clean and had everything you need to cook what food you bring. Bed was very comfortable in our... More

Our entire family booked the Springs for a long weekend, and we converged from all over Texas. I"m sure they thought I had lured them to the ends of the earth as we drove down on Pinto Canyon Road. We stopped several times for Dad to take photographs, and we were lucky enough to see the wild burros and the... More

Secluded, quiet, hiking trails, pool and hot tub. The rooms are small and some of them do not have a restroom in them. The air conditioner is cool but loud and never goes off. There is a huge community kitchen with a stove, microwave, coffee pots and 2 refrigerators. There are bar b q grills and supplies for grilling. They... More

Awesome place for a girls trip. We had 16 ladies aging from 89 to 40. We had a blast. Not one person had anything negative to say about our stay. Several of the girls are taking their families back as soon as they can. Everything was very clean from the rooms, to the kitchen, to the grounds. Both the hot... More

I have been hearing from locals how much I needed to go to Chinati and finally got the chance to do so. Wow! This place is so fantastic I really do not want to tell anyone about it so I can keep it all to myself! Originally built in 1937,renovated and modernized to today's standards, this place is a true... I was planning on stopping by on my way to Spring Break with my kids, and after researching their website, I contacted them via email to get some clarifications on some things. Their reply was "Everything is on the website." That's a rude reply and it really turned me off. I will be sure to NEVER go there.

Hot springs tend to occur in off the beaten path locations, and Chinati is way, way, way off the beaten path. A real gem of the Big Bend area, Chinati Hot Springs is an excellent choice for getting away to a remote resort for relaxing, lounging and soaking in the refreshing warm waters of the ancient spring. No, there is... More
