It is not the Marfa I use to go with my friends in high school.... It is well dated and everything is overpriced. The gallery on the first floor; actually had an item I wanted BUT there was a Tj max price tag on it. It was labeled as "original art"; not sure of it was, but the gallery tag... More

I loved my stay here. I stayed in the James Dean room, which is where James Dean stayed while filming the movie Giant. It is a little small, but since I was by myself, it was just fine. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The shower had great water pressure. The room also... More

Marfa has a mystique like nowhere else in Texas. It's way out there where no six-lane highways roll..or even four-lane ones... It's famous for mysterious lights...for eccentric artists... It's a very contemplative place. The Hotel Paisano is beautifully restored, located in the heart of town...lots of shiny tiles and leather furniture. But the most exciting thing after the comfortable beds... More

The Hotel Paisano is wonderful with excellent accommodations, great quiet sleeping, and a terrific dining room. It's on the Register of Historic Places and the decor inside and outside is beautiful. It's also a town gathering spot so people watching is terrific. What wonderful history of the hotel and town itself!

Marfa is definitely not a stop off, but more of a destination in itself. Don't come here looking for something other than what it is: an oasis on the long lonesome highway. I was so glad I chose the Paisano, a lovingly maintained historic hotel (that's pet friendly as well!!). Had a great night sleep, the room was exactly what... More

Lovely place; and this is the place to stay (more convenient & reasonably priced) if you are in town to do the Judd tours, in stead of Cibolo Creek Ranch where we had also stayed. Very comfortable beds, nice size room, good restaurant plus complementary breakfast, free wi-fi, and up-to-date & super clean. Best of all: staffs were very nice... More

My daughter and I had a plan to drive to Marfa from Houston on Saturday, December 26, 2015. A winter storm advisory calling for gusting winds, blizzard conditions, and icy roads came out on Christmas Day. When I called the hotel to say we wouldn't be able to make the drive due to weather, I asked if we could apply... More

I actually stayed in three hotels over the course of my week in Marfa (which didn't start out as a week) - and all three were quite different. Hotel Paisano is definitely very comfortable in a way that feels a little more luxe and not as outrageously hip as El Cosmico and Thunderbird. It has a gorgeous lobby, a downstairs... More

The owners of the Paisano Hotel have an affinity for bringing once-grand old hotels back to an above average level of comfortable accommodations for travelers. The Paisano of Marfa, Texas has all the features of a slower paced era: a large entry lobby with clusters of comfortable seats around tables, another separate parlor with deep cushioned sofa and chairs in... Elegant old hotel built with cattlemen in mind. Every town in West Texas has landmark lodging, but this one is really special. Gorgeous public spaces, terrific bar, and a surprising shopping arcade. I stayed in James Dean's room - a simple accommodation for a young unheard of actor at the time of the filming of Giant. If you are headed... More
