I was on a road trip and Marfa was one of my trip destinations - I wanted to see the Donald Judd foundation there. I did a search, found the Paisano Hotel, and checked it out. It has a sort of old school feeling as if it's been around for a long time. A very charming place, a good restaurant... More

This is really a unique experience. The movie Giant had 6 weeks in the Hotel with cast and crew! Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean and crew stayed and worked at the hotel, watching the daily cuts and eating and partying together. The suite where Elizabeth stayed was very nice and you could just imagine her resting after each day's... More

Not that they'd be hard pressed to change anything, seeing as the alternative housing options in Marfa are limited. I realize they're trying to keep the historic theme, down to the endless playing of "Giant" in the gift shop (albeit with the commentary track when I peeked in), but the room décor could use a little upgrade, perhaps reflecting the... We spent one night at the Paisano. Arrived a bit early on Sunday, well before check-in time. When we inquired about breakfast, we were directed around the corner to a tiny little spot called Marfa Squeeze, a Swiss cafe. The menu is limited, but the quality is indisputable. Because Marfa is pretty much closed on Sunday, we ended up driving... More

The gift shops take up at least 30% of the ground floor. But my serious complaint is that they don't offer breakfast or lunch. There is a coffee dispenser in the lobby, and that's it. Nor is there service for anything on the patio before 5. That wouldn't be so bad if it were not for the fact that the... More

My wife and I drove to Marfa for the weekend and decided to stay at the Paisano due to the Giant connection. We loved our weekend at the hotel. We had a nice suite with access to a large balcony where we could sit and relax. Downstairs and outside was the beautiful courtyard where once you sat down you did... More

While a bit small room and bath with little noise reduction there is a spirit of the old west here. Would recommend staying here. Wine on the patio was a good experience. Sitting in the lobby and people watching was cool. Plenty of on street parking.

This hotel has so much historical charm and nostalgia. I loved our stay here. Our room was small , but the hotel is historical. Im willing to sacrifice size for charisma . There are some hip places to dine locally, also the hotel has beautiful restaurant as well. Pool was remarkable, plus knowing celebrities have stayed here and roamed the... More

The hotel is a quaint and old..and not a good place if you are looking for a quiet night's rest.. we were in one of the rooms that face the courtyard and shares a balcony with another very large room. We could hear people in the courtyard until around 11pm and then we were able to hear the people talking... More

I noticed that people are giving this hotel a bad time about it being old. That is it's charm. The bathrooms could use new tile but the old is fine and clean. We stayed in a mezzanine room with a patio. Very pleasant. The hotel patio is a very nice place to have a drink in the afternoon. We didn't... More
