This is a great hotel. Lots of history, charm and comfortable surroundings. I've stayed here quite often when I'm in the area and the service has always been great. The beds are super comfy for a great night's sleep. The location is perfect....you can walk and sightsee from the hotel. I recommend the restaurant, as well. The food has always... More

Driving up to the hotel in downtown Marfa was an aesthetic treat and it only got better. Parking was easy, check in was a breeze (they pull out a laptop for billing etc. but keep a paper register and give you a real key). The court yard and lobby have a 1950s Texas feel. James Dean and others from Giant... More

This hotel is centrally located near the courthouse and within walking distance of several restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but comfortable. We enjoyed looking at the movie memorabilia in the lobby and browsing at the small store in the hotel building. The patio is a nice place to sit in the evening. I would definitely recommend staying at... More

Spent Valentine's week end in Marfa. The hotel is a piece of history. If your looking for a new hotel. This is not your place. If you want a comfortable quaint place that is filled with history look no further! The beds are comfortable and the rooms clean. The staff friendly and helpful.

We loved staying at the charming historical Hotel Paisano. From the time we arrived until we checked out the staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed in the James Dean room which is one of the least expensive, but it was big enough for my husband and me. The bed and the pillows were very comfy. The bathroom was small and... More

i don't know what i was expecting, and i'm not sure what i got. when you hear the word charming and atmostphere, i guess you should be concerned. marfa may be one of the few towns weirder than austin, so maybe that is part of the whole vibe thing. we had a courtyard room, which is one of the better... This is a national historic landmark, and famous because of the movie Giant. This was the place where James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson stayed for a while during the shooting of the movie. You still can see pictures in the lobby of those famous actors. We had a Deluxe Historic Room with Window Balcony and it was a... More

We loved the public portions of the hotel. It evokes the atmosphere of a prosperous Western town and is quite well done. Then the check in. Painful. We were with friends who did the booking and we had to wait well beyond the check in time for our room, staff was overworked and the fatigue and stress showed. When we... More

My friend of 30 years was visiting in El Paso and we decided to go to Marfa. Luckly we went in the middle of winter and during the week as we did not have a reservation. I would not recommend this as they are booked most of the time. We stayed in Mezzanine Rooms for 2 nights. A different room... More

The Hotel Paisano is a lovingly restored stagecoach-era grand hotel, and the rooms once welcomed the likes of James Dean and the Coen Brothers (both Giant and There Will be Blood were filmed in town). Marfa itself is magical and this is by far the best and most comfortable place to stay...within walking distance of everything from the Marfa Book... More
