Continuing our mini vacation with our granddaughter we went from Ruidoso to Marfa Texas to show her where I grew up. We stayed two nights. The hotel is really old and is historic because the cast of the movie "Giant" stayed here. The atmosphere was was great and the people were very friendly. The down side is the beds are... More

Paisano review I'm here right now and between the housekeepers banging doors and the weed eater outside the window, sleeping in has been impossible. Pair that with the incredibly small bathroom with the sink in your ribs while you attempt to use the toilet and lack of refrigerator and no microwave PLUS the $159 + tax ($179), has left me... More

This is an old hotel but beautifully restored and in wonderful condition. Remember this is an old hotel so the bathrooms are extra small. However, the room was large and very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is no elevator so you have to carry your bags up the stairs to your room.

Loved it! How many hotels can you go to that they will hand you the key and say go check out the room that this person stayed in? Only in Marfa! We stayed in the Rock Hudson suite room 211. It was wonderful except the attention to detail in cleaning. The shower head needed some CLR. The event needed to... More

Marfa is an interesting place, but I don't mean that in a good way. My wife and kids visited hotel paisano for a couple of days and we're disappointed. Hotel paisano was a nice place to stay, but from our outdoor patio, someone was smoking pot from the room next door. In my opinion, Marfa is extremely overrated in comparison... More

Went to Marfa this past weekend for a wedding and stayed at the Paisano. It was a great hotel, the staff was friendly and the room was very nice. We had drinks at the hotel bar which had a big selection. We did not order food but it looked great! They also had a nice pool area. The only negative... More

I have wanted to stay at the Hotel Paisano for about 3 years; and I finally made it happen this past week. Ground-breaking for the hotel began in 1929 but it was completed in 1930. It does have that 1920s Art Deco feel but with a definite west Texan flair. It hosted James Dean and the various cast members of... More

Admittedly, the Hotel Paisano is a centrally located and historic hotel in the unique town of Marfa. If you are in Marfa for a night or two, this could be a great choice for getting the "feel" of this artsy town. If you want a more predictable and more comfortable room, as well as an equally interesting town, I would... More

The hotel was quaint and well kept. Our room was on the second floor and with a little work climbing the stairs with our luggage we settled into our spacious room. Housekeeping did an excellent job during our two night stay. Reservations must be made if you want a seat at restaurant downstairs. Food was excellent, though took a while... More

Spent the 4th of July holiday in Marfa for a wedding and stayed at the Hotel Paisano. We brought our dog Fancy and she was welcomed with a package of doggie cleanup bags and a water bowl. Most of the town is dog friendly and there is a dog park 2 blocks from the hotel. This is a beautiful hotel,... More
