Well maintained rv park and motel in a small town an hour north of Big Bend NP. We stayed in an rv site that was large and included electricity, sewer, water, cable, and wi fi. Very helpful staff. Strongly recommended.

We camped out at Marathon Motel and RV Park. All the motels were booked so since we had been camping in the Big Bend National Park we thought we would give this place a try. First of all it was only $10 to rent a tent space and this place was beautiful. I am sharing photos. The management was very... More

Friendly, clean, beautiful surroundings, quiet. A great place to stay if you arae spending a few days exploring Big Bend and a great place to spend the night if you are just passing through the area. Below I state that this hotel is near the city center. If you know Marathon you know it's 'SMALL'. Marathon has sleeping, eating &... More

My husband and i decided at the last minute to take a trip to Big Bend. Needed a place to stay the nihht before entering the park. Marathon Motel had a cancellation for a small room. We took it and while it was VERY small, it was very clean and certainly added to the memories of our trip. We like... More

Traveled to Big Bend for Spring Blooms but made plans to late to stay in National Park or nearby towns of Terlingua or Lajitas, Texas. The closest place with rooms available were in Marathon and this place is cool. An old motel with separate buildings with two rooms to each building and with an adjoining door for large parties to... My wife and I stayed at the RV park at the Motel in early March. We arrived without reservations and the good people at the motel worked us into a spot. When we wanted to extend another night, they worked bus into another slot. The cable was excellent, the water and electricity very good. We will definitely stay here again.

Staying at the Marathon Motel after spending the day in Big Bend was a step back in time to childhood vacations at a motor court. (I loved reading the history of the motel.) Even the sound of the train gave a certain ambiance. Our cabin had been very recently and stylishly updated. Bed linens, bedspreads, mirrors and plumbing fixtures all... More

We had made reservations for Thursday night. Our plans were to go hiking Wednesday and sleep out on the trail. The wind came up Wednesday afternoon and we decided we should not sleep out on the trail. We had just hiked 14 miles and we were ready to just eat dinner and go to bed (hoping we could get a... Located in SW Texas and a gateway town to Big Bend National Park near the Rio Grande this wonderful little park has about 9 cabins & several RV lots as well as an area for tenters to camp. Real Texas feel with nice staff & starry bright nights. Highly recommended.

We loved this place. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the grounds were lovely. We had a view of the courtyard. Couldn't ask for a better place to . Marathon is about equidistant between McDonald Observatory and Bid Bend, and the Marathon Motel is a super place to stay. Will stay here agian.
