The hotel is a very interesting historic building and the nighttime view of the building is very picturesque. And breakfast was very good. However, the room and bathroom could have been cleaner - kind of icky walking around in the room and kind of scary the thought of sitting on the bed spread. We didn't get the room we reserved,... This is the 4th year 14 friends have arrived at the Woodbine for a 4 day quilt retreat. Five of us went up a day early. Just couldn't wait to get started. Susan continues to update the suites. This year, there were new bed linens, towels and pillows. Very nice. She had also purchased newer tables for us to use... More

Beautiful 1904 hotel. We stayed in the best suite and it was very comfortable. Restaurant was closed on Monday night so remember that when you make reservations. The breakfast was great and I can see if it were crowded it may get a little loud. We were there with only a few others so we were not disturbed during the... More

The inn is very beautiful! We arrived for one night and the front desk was not as welcoming as we've seen in other establishments. Upon arrival, I was only greeted by another customer in the foyer. When the desk person appeared, I told her that I believed my husband had already checked us in and she abruptly asked, "what's your... More

Although the bedrooms were somewhat 'faded' the public rooms were a delight. Loads of parking and loads of history. But outstanding was the evening meal of Prime Rib. Best dinner we had all two weeks.

I had to be in the Madisonville, TX area on business and the Woodbine seemed like a nice quiet, restful place to stay. Well... it was quiet alright. Closed in fact. I booked the room on Kayak, and paid by credit card for a 3 night stay. After a full work day I drove the 30 miles to the Woodbine... More

I love this place!!! We go here all the time for Ghost Hunting weekends. Definitely recommend it if you love Ghosts, History, and Old Bed and Breakfasts!! Went with Houston Ghost Tour many times to perform paranormal investigations. The food is to die for, and Susan the owner is awesome!!!

Wow - fantastic. We have so much fun with the Ghost Investigations. Always interesting and intriguing people who come. They always find something on each visit - like Jane this time, our newest addition to the hotel. Looking forward to future investigations and the Murder Mystery Dinner Plays in November! More

Just returned today from a quilting retreat weekend at the Woodbine. What a fun time. Susan and her staff did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. Having 14 friends spend 5 days sewing in the upstairs parlor is a treat. The food is awesome. From the French toast for breakfast, the specials for lunch, the tilapia for dinner... More

The Woodbine Hotel is a beautiful and charming place and seems to fit perfectly in this small town. Overall, our weekend stay was a good, with a few glitches. Pro: The breakfast is delicious (the pecan-crusted French toast is awesome), the rooms have a wonderful antique look and feel and the second floor parlor is a great place to congregate... More

The grounds are beautiful, and if you love historical places, check this one out. All the furnishings and decorations are antiques and very charming. I particularly love the Madison suite, I have stayed in it twice now for week-long stays. They are pet friendly which is always a plus, and the breakfast part of the B&B is wonderful. Be sure...
