The AAA tour book for Texas 2007 gives this hotel a double diamond rating out of 3 diamonds. They should have given it a 0 diamond rating. There were several B & B's to choose from, but none had access to wireless internet and I needed to work on my laptop, so decided to stay here because they had a huge sign out front that said "Free Wireless Internet IN ALL ROOMS". Since the check-out time wasn’t til 12 noon, I decided to get a room and get alot of my work done in the morning without being rushed to check out. They only had one room with a king sized bed and non-smoking left. We went to the room and upon entering the smoke stink was overpowering! Even though the heat was intolerable, the smoke was worse, so we opened the window and door and sat with no privacy next to the open door. I decided maybe I could get some work done and tried to connect to the internet – it didn’t work. I tried and tried. My husband went to the front desk and complained about the smoke... more
