I recently had my 60th birthday. My girlfriend and I decided to stay a couple days in the Texas hill country. I went online and found some places in Fredericksburg, Tx I liked, but she found this place. Upon driving into the property we weren't expecting much, but room was nice inside. Exterior of property needed some repairs deck, tree... More

My wife and I chose Trails End for our 21st Anniversary weekend. We couldn't have made a better choice. If you are looking for a commercial, ascetically perfect destination, look elsewhere. If you want a relaxing, tranquil setting that is also beautiful, look no further. We had the pleasure of staying in the Southwest Room which was appointed nicely and... More

Really enjoyed our stay. We arrived the day after Christmas and we were exhausted. The room was immaculate the food was heavenly. Everything we needed was right there and did not have to ask for a single thing. Can't find anything at to complain about except it was cold and that was out of the owners control. We plan on... average to poor would be my fair evaluation. Rural - Absolutely. Out of the way - yep, even with the directions in hand I would not recommend trying to find it at night. If your looking to be out of the city this will work. If you are looking to be in and out of Kerrville you should be used... More

Got quite a chuckle reading this one. The guest who submitted this review alerts any future guests with this advice, " If you are looking to be in and out of Kerrville you should be used to hilly country driving." Well, we are in the Texas Hill Country and we are 5 miles from town. Just to get to Kerrville... More

It's not fancy but extremely comfortable. In the country. A bit like roughing it. They serve a gourmet breakfast and plenty of it. We always go in the fall. We always stay in the larger 2 bedroom. They have a nice kitchen and family dining and huge deck. Again, not fancy but entirely enjoyable.

First I would like to say that some of the negative reviews of Trails End Guest House are unfounded and unfair. But I do understand why some people had such a strong response. The web site advertising Trails End Guest House is SO GOOD that it creates a certain expectation. I had such an expectation when I arrived at Trails... More

Not sure if this review was posted to praise or zing Trail's End since it had a bit of both, you gave us a mediocre rating and your comments seem to be a bit condescending. Thanks for the kind words you did offer and thanks for the complements to the website, we work hard to keep it interesting, fast to... More

My husband and I have stayed at Trails End 4 times, and we have loved it every time. We stay in a different cabin each time so we can experience them all. So far we have stayed in the Writer's Cabin, The Sleepy Time Cabin, The Hunter's Cabin and the Tuscan Barn Room. We will be returning to Trails End... More

Thank you for your kind words and for your repeat visits. The lodging business can be demanding and great reviews really make our day. A note about the food - we are farm to table with our breakfasts. Any dishes we serve are right out of David's head, determined by the ingredients we sourced fresh that week. He is asked... More

My daughter bought us a night's stay at the Sleepy Time Cabin at this B&B. Check-in time was 4PM. We drove right to our cabin and walked right in. No formal check-in at the "front desk." The room key was on a nail inside the front door. The cabin was a delight. Made of cedar and delightfully rustic inside and... More

We stayed in The Writer's Cabin and it was worth every penny. Trails end is close enough to "downtown" Kerrville to get into town quickly, but away enough for privacy and quiet. Even though there are multiple cabins on the large property, you would never know it. There is plenty of land to go walking on. A few friendly animals... More

We stayed here during a weekend in December, in which an unexpected freeze came. The cabin where we was so cute and cozy! Perfect for COLD winter's night! Unfortunately the pipes froze and we did not have running water for a couple of days. The owners were very accomodating and offered to give us a refund or to bring water... More
