My husband and I had a nice stay. I could not have been more delighted with our room! We were very comfortable and we felt at home! Breakfast was an experience in itself. It was great! Way more than I expected. The only thing that I was uncomfortable with was the inn keeper. She didn't seem very happy, which brought... More

We had a wonderful time and plan to come back again! The B/B is very charming and the service we received was excellent. We are telling all our friends to make sure and put this one on their places to go list. The only wrinkle was a group of guests who were extremely obnoxious. They didn't like the flowers, various... My husband, daughter and son-in-law stayed here this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in the Sunday House which is behind the main house and has two bedrooms. The room we stayed in was very rustic, with antiques everywhere. Both have fireplaces. My daughter said the bed in their room was so comfortable! We sat on the porch... More

We love this place and look forward to going back in the future. Great clean room, super extras, wonderful innkeepers, yummy breakfast, good location, easy parking, etc. We stayed upstairs last summer and downstairs this summer. Hugh is fun to talk to and he knows all the history of the area. Did not talk to his wife as much, but... More

My husband and I just spent a fantastic weekend at the McKay House. I could not have been more delighted. We rented the Sunday House Cottage in the back of the B&B because we travel with our fur babies. The cottage was precious! From quaint antique furniture to a front porch swing, it was all there. We were comfy cozy.... More

We have been staying at various B&B's in Jefferson, TX for the last 30 years. One of our favorite retreats was the McKay House B&B. Under previous management, the rooms were lovely, clean with all the ammenities and extra touches that mean so much. Needless to say, w were looking forward to our stay the second week in June, 2012.... More

Management response:

We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay. We are also very disappointed that you did not want to express your unhappiness about your stay until well after you had departed. No effort was made to express that you were dissatisfied with anything - you even went so far as to say how much you enjoyed your stay... More

This B&B was absolutely beautiful...inside and out. The beds were very comfortable as well as the rooms. Hugh and Darla are wonderful hosts and great at recommending things to do and places to eat. The breakfasts were really good (I'm going to miss that :) ). We had our 3 year old daughter with us and they and the other... More

We just turned up here one night in July (2011) on our road trip round Texas, from our lonely planet travel guide recommendation. There was a room available, fortunately, so we were able to stay. The owner was lovely and cooked a fantastic breakfast the next morning. He also sat with us and chatted while we ate. We are not... More

This B and B was nice, as mentioned by other travellers. Loved the house and the location was nice. The food was outstanding. One day we had blueberry french toast, an apple dumpling, champagne eggs and sausage. The next day was good as well. The 'snacks' they set out at night were fab - pies, peanut brittle, fudge and trash... More
