I have stayed here three of the last four years, usually because the Excelsior is unavailable. The weekend of October 24, it was just unbearable. The towels were dirty and stiff, a big greasy ring around the tub, the air conditioner didn't work and it was hot, and the sheets were pilled up. I don't believe I will go back... More

This is a pretty neat place. It is a historic hotel where Ulysses S Grant stayed. They have is signature in the hotel register. It was pretty clean and well maintained. Jefferson is good place for a quiet weekend of food and antiques the hotel is in the middle of it all.

It has been years since we were in Jefferson and thought we would try something different. Last time we were there we stayed at the Excelsior and we both agree we should have stayed there again. The room was large and well appointed with what appeared to be original or well done reproductions. The bed was comfortable and the air... More

We were excited to stay in the Historic Jefferson Hotel when planning our trip. Also, they didn't have a problem with children, which was a plus. Good "bones" to the building, very poor condition. Room 1 was clean, for the most part (old potato chips under the bed and behind the bedside table). The toilet is in a separate closet-like... More

When the former owners Mike and Cindy owned this property it was fantastic to stay in. You could talk to them and ask the staff questions regarding the local haunted lore. Since the new company that took over a year or two back took over the service level has taken a dump as well as the atmosphere has changed. Lamaches... More

We stayed in room 21 on a Thursday night, there wasn't much going on. Had wanted to eat at the Italian restaurant in the hotel but it wasn't open. The room was hot even at night, and a little run down. The coke machine was out of order and the hotel's front desk closed at 1 in the afternoon. Have... More

My husband, my son, my new saughter-in-law and myself stayed overnight Labor Day weekend. Room was clean, bed huge, sheets smelled fresh and clean and the bathroom was clean and well stocked. My husband and I got a great nights sleep. VERY comfortable. A few small issues, but overcomeable. All in all, would definitely so this again.

Stayed over night with my sisters, mom and niece. We had heard ghost stories from my brother and sister-in-law for many years so we finally decided to give it a try and see what might happen. My sister and I stayed upstairs and had a very uneventful night. But my sister, mom and tiny niece all stayed downstairs in Rm.... More

Vintage/historical hotels always have a quirkiness to them and this one is no exception. Our room had no shower and the vanity lighting was quite dim. The hotel is very clean and premises are well kept. Air conditioner struggled to keep us cool, but bed was comfy.
