We stayed in Room #10 and it was a lovely room. I do think that it was under staff at this time. We go every year for our Anniversary and will continue to go there. Nice lady at front desk. I loved the park and new walking path behind the hotel. It was very nice to be able to walk... More

My family had plan to visit the hotel on January 2,2015 but on January 1st we where involved in a head on collision. Our car was totalled and I broke my hand. So we called and ask if we could cancel our reservation or use it a different time. We where told no, the cancelation policy was what it was... More

One would stay here for the charm and historical past. It is clean with friendly staff and the location is great. Walking distance to quite a few restaurants, shops, etc. A nice small town feel. A little gem for its age.

My husband surprised me for our first trip to Jefferson, Texas. We have returned many times since that first trip. That first time we stayed and The Historic Jefferson Hotel - he had read about how haunted it was and thought it would be fun! We stayed in the room at the top of the grand staircase. A general hotel... More

No window covering and light streamed in making sleeping past dawn difficult. The shade on the windows rolled to the top of the window and because of the high ceilings I climbed onto the bed and into the window sill to attempt to pull down the broken shade only to have it fly back up again. Four of the five... More

It's not the best looking place, but the staff is so sweet and helpful, and I always meet the nicest people that are also staying there. The price is fair and it's easy to get a reservation. The location is ideal, walking distance to just about anywhere a visitor would want to go. It's is also adjacent to the Lamache... More

As mentioned in other reviews this is a very old building. The amenities are not modern as such. In particular the heating and cooling is unusual with a combination of room units and central system. We stayed in the large 2-bed room 21. We joined another couple who had received the stay as a gift and invited to join them.... More

Loved it so much. So what the stairs are creaky and some say it needs more TLC? This is a 100+ year old historical building and it can not and should not be "tweaked". If you need more cush for your tush, go stay in a $$$$ hotel. This is a great family oriented retreat in a quaint part of... More

Great place! Lots of history! Compared to a lot of the b&b's locally, the price is right. Very accommodating staff. We stayed in both the jacuzzi suite and the fireplace suite. One night each for a little variety. Staff had no problem with it. Hotel staff leaves at night so you are by yourself with the other guests. There are... More

My family reserved several rooms recently. After the reservations were made, we began to wonder if any of them were downstairs. We had a family member that could not climb stairs. We had heard there was no elevator. Several of the family members called the listed phone number at different times of the day on different days. We left messages.... More
