This is a really cool hotel that is over 150 years old. It has been upgraded enough to be thoroughly comfortable for modern travelers without losing the antique charm and ambience of the hotel. In the center of town, close to all of the shops and activities, it is one of our favorite places in Jefferson. The southern style breakfast... More

Reservations are sometimes hard to come by at this old hotel located right downtown and within walking distance of many of the town's attractions. Rooms are varied and all are nice. Good breakfast. Great place for a week end getaway for a special occasion.

The Excelsior House Hotel was probably my favourite place on a recent road tip in the USA. We hadn't planned on staying in Jefferson and the helpful lady at the Chamber of Commerce directed us to the Excelsior where we took advantage of the Traveller's Special. We were given a tour of the hotel and grounds by the lady at... More

We loved this hotel, it is absolutely wonderful. It is more like visiting a grand home than a hotel because you feel so comfortable and relaxed. The beautiful historic building is full of antique furnishings and art that tell its unique story. Once you step in the front door, you feel you are in a very special place. The breakfast... More

This is a beautiful, elegant Southern style hotel that was built in the 1850s and boasts famous guests such as President Ulysses S. Grant, President Hayes, Ladybird Johnson and - the one that impressed me the most - Oscar Wilde!!! I was even shown his entry in an old register book. We were lucky to be able to use the... More

We were here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Sheri checked us in and made us feel very welcome. She took us to our room and checked to make sure everything ok and we did not need anything. She was very informed regarding the history of the inn. All unoccupied rooms had the doors open so you could see the... More

Our travel experience started with the intentions of staying in what was described in a "cottage" by the "beautiful" Caddo Lake. What we arrived to find was a rundown trailer in an area that was something straight out of a horror movie. The nature was wild and wonderful looking, but it was swallowing the "cottage." It was horrendous. after being... More

The location and history of the hotel is great. The hotel is in need of some repairs but was clean. The wait for assistance from the staff sometimes was lengthy. The breakfast was good but rather pricey. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

This was our second trip to Jefferson. On our previous visit we stayed at the Jefferson Hotel. The staff was friendly enough and the included breakfast was terrific This inn is really more of a B&B with a full time staff member.... No food available other than breakfast along with a half broken down soda machine and ice maker outside.... More

My sister and I stayed 2 nights in the Victorian Parlor room. Although we would have preferred a room with 2 beds, we chose this room because of the door that opens out to the courtyard. The room itself was clean and very spacious but the bathroom and the shower were both rather small. The bed was very soft and... More
