After knowing we were heading to India, I stumbled across a listing for Tranquil Resort and knew we had to go. It is a resort on a coffee and vanilla plantation - about a 6 hour drive from where we were in Bangalore, India. Though not an easy drive, it was well worth the trip. We were greeted by AJ... More

This resort calls itself a Homestay experience and you do feel as though you are joining a family who are old friends. The host and his family greet you when you arrive, meals are at set times, drinks early evening and the long table in the evening is beautifully set for all guests as if it's a dinner party. It's... Stayed here with wife and 19 year old son for 3 nights. First night in Tree House then 2 nights in Deluxe Room. 4 nights would have been better given that we arrived late on first day and left early on last day. Tree House was amazing albeit there is the odd insect or two to ignore. As we were... More

Pros: Beautiful property. Nice trail system for hiking. Great bird watching. Lovely pool. Enjoyable conversations with our hosts and fellow guest. Reasonably tranquil. If you like dogs, dogs. Staff was very accommodating. Great Mojitos. Cons: If you don't like dogs, I wouldn't go there. The dogs are an integral part of the property. Watch out for Dynamite! Tranquility could be... More

A wonderful resort, both luxurious and close to nature. We managed to have long walks in the plantation, spotting some of the 127 birds known to be there, combined with a relaxing swim in the pool. The hosts were gracious and attentive and we had a wonderful stay. Very highly recommended.

A beautiful, casual but very high standard retreat to just relax. Walk around the working coffee plantation (400 acres) or just relax by the pool amid the greenery and birds. The owner and his family run this place like a hobby and join you for the excellent food with the other guests. The owners daughter is building a medicinal plant... More

We reached Tranquil Plantation Hideaway after a long, tiring journey from London Heathrow, via Dubai, and it certainly lived up to its name: serene, beautiful, peaceful, with accompanying birdsong. We were met by our charming host Ajay and his cheerful manager and, even though we arrived later than scheduled, lunch from the buffet was available. Our standard room was far... More

.....because, quite honestly, I fail to see why so many people are entranced by this place. Now, I understand it is a ' home stay',and you are made to feel very welcome, and so I write this fully appreciating that it does not set itself out to be some 5 star establishment. The rooms are ok. We had a deluxe... More

Our seventh visit in 7 years - they must be doing something right! It isn't a "classic" hotel, more like an exclusive club. Everything ticks along smoothly and with the minimum of fuss, splendid dining, comfortable rooms and the evening "happy hour" allows everyone an opportunity to get to know each other. There has been a gradual change in the... More

This resort (I'm not sure resort is correct it is more a paradise homestay) must be experienced. A few days here will rest you from the bustle of India with excellent walks through the plantation and good food. The buildings exude charm and style and lay testament to the hard work of the owner (Victor) over many years. Seems to... More
