.....because, quite honestly, I fail to see why so many people are entranced by this place. Now, I understand it is a ' home stay',and you are made to feel very welcome, and so I write this fully appreciating that it does not set itself out to be some 5 star establishment. The rooms are ok. We had a deluxe... More

Our seventh visit in 7 years - they must be doing something right! It isn't a "classic" hotel, more like an exclusive club. Everything ticks along smoothly and with the minimum of fuss, splendid dining, comfortable rooms and the evening "happy hour" allows everyone an opportunity to get to know each other. There has been a gradual change in the... More

This resort (I'm not sure resort is correct it is more a paradise homestay) must be experienced. A few days here will rest you from the bustle of India with excellent walks through the plantation and good food. The buildings exude charm and style and lay testament to the hard work of the owner (Victor) over many years. Seems to... More

We stayed here for two nights when our previously booked accommodation was unsuitable. SO glad they were able to accommodate us here - it was one of the highlights of our trip. It is run rather like a high class B&B. The hosts and staff are welcoming, charming and hospitable. And, unusually in India, everything gets done at the right... More

Great hosts, a terrific location and excellent food, make this one of our all time favourite places to spend time in India. Take a long walk through the coffee plantation, spend time around the pool or chat with other guests over pre dinner drinks and soup. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Tranquil Resort for 3 nights over Christmas as part of a longer trip from Bangalore to Cochin. Tranquil Resort was one of the highlights of the whole trip. A warm welcome from our hosts was immediately followed by a delicious lunch when we were able to meet fellow guests. We very much liked the fact that there... More

I recently made my TA account n decided to write reviews for all places I had been to in d past. Tranquil stands out amongst all of them. The tree house is one of its kind and was an amazing experience. The long bridge the tree house, the luxury inside, the awesome balcony wid d sound of the waterfall, the... More

This was the starting point for our trip around south west India. Tranquil Resort reminds me of a well run UK B&B where the owners put their heart & soul into the place all for the guests benefit. We arrived after our long journey from the UK to be greeted with a warm friendly welcome from the owner along with... More

This is a really high end homestay with genuinely warm yet professional hospitality extended by Ajay, Neesha and their girls and dogs. There are more than a dozen marked trails in this working coffee plantation and we walked about half of them in our 2 night stay - accompanied by the dogs of course. The food was outstanding and it... More

Everything you read in previous positive reviews is true. Our experience exceeded expectations. The hospitality given by the family at Tranquil is unusual and valuable in that it allows a much deeper understanding of the country and its cultures than staying in a conventional hotel would. We enjoyed hiking on the property trails in the good company of the family... More
