This was my first stay at a Westin, as I have loyalty rewards membership with other same level hotel brands. I had great expectations since I have always perceived the Westin to be high end. This hotel has such a spectacular location that it is criminal it is in such disrepair. 1) The water went out!!! Literally there was no water in the entire hotel one morning. How do you take a shower?? You can only flush your toilet once. And the STAFF WAS SO RUDE ABOUT IT! 2) The rooms are from the '70s. Scary. 3) 3/5 elevators were broken, it appeared permanently - took forever to get an elevator.... more

What a nightmare! Went to Houston with my 92 year old grandmother to attend my uncles funeral. I didn't take my laptop computer this time because I didn't feel it was nessesary and I had my iphone anyway. After arriving at the airport my iphone quit working! great location.not enough facilities in the room, no body lotion, no coffee every day ,dirty in the halls etc. not good for a chain that sells themselves as luxury and confort. more

It is not as bad as described by some recent travelers. However, it does not meet the standard of other Westin hotels I stayed at. This is not a 4* property, maybe 3+. As travel industry staff we were able to book a standard room at about 50% discount, but even then it was only just acceptable. We certainly wouldn't pay the 297 dollars a night originally quoted.
